Having AEDs is part of being ready to win against the real threat, sudden cardiac death.
Each day 1,000 people, in the US alone, die of sudden cardiac arrest.
63 of them are children. 63 children every day and probably at least 90% of those deaths are preventable. AEDs, accessible and quickly used, save lives.
$1,500 can get one AED for a gym.
Another $1,500 can mean a travel AED for a gym.
Donations can help us get AEDs and get trained and prepared.
Think of the ways you’d keep your kid safe while playing - the right footwear, elbow pads, mouthguards, ankle braces, safety glasses, socks, athletic physicals.
Now think that keeping our kids safe also means having AEDs ready and available and all of us trained to use them. by @laylanilovesmith

This week my mom and I filmed my heart journey with @heartcharged ❤️‍🩹

A year ago, I was healing from open-heart surgery. Today, I'm using my story to help save lives.

Sudden cardiac arrest is the #1 killer of student athletes, and too many families don't know the warning signs until it's too late.

If sharing what I've been through helps save even one life, every part of this journey is worth it.

This is bigger than basketball.

It's about awareness. It's about advocacy. It's about making sure more kids get the chance to grow up and chase their dreams.
