honestly, i’m still processing and trying to find the most meaningful words to encapsulate what i’ve just experienced. if you told little 16-year-old lay that she’d achieve this milestone at all in her life, she most likely would not have believed you. i’m beyond blessed to have been able to embark on this incredibly daunting yet rewarding ride that is a conservatory in the arts.

these past 4 years have been the most challenging, fruitful, meaningful, stressful, and fulfilling years of my entire life. i would not be anywhere near the artist i am today without the invaluable experience in the theatre division. i’m forever grateful for everything i have learned throughout the past 4 years, on and off the stage.

thank you to all who somehow, someway, have been a part of my journey.

i (truly) have been changed for good.

“all we really have is each other.”

no idea how to say how much this project means to me. from my very first idea to the final product, this has been the most stressful yet fulfilling experience in my college journey. thank you to every single person who has supported me throughout this process. you are all the reason that my younger self was able to walk with me.
to my mommy and my sister, this piece is dedicated to the both of you. we went through it all and more to find the home in each other we’ve been yearning so long for.
to those living with an abusive family member and/or witnessing an abrupt divorce in the household, hope still exists. a safe home awaits you if you just take a closer look. light is calling you, just like how it called me. home is whoever you feel safest and most comforted around.

may you never feel alone again. 🤍

I love you, Amy.

This is a show I’ve been wanting to be a part of since I first learned that it was a musical after watching the animated series as an 11-year-old girl. I especially have been drawn to Amy’s character and felt so much for her as I watched her. I’ll never stop loving her. I’m beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to portray her.

To all of y’all involved, plz know how much I love and appreciate you and that you made this experience (no pun intended) the most amazing thing.

This post is long overdue but let’s blame it on the JAM PACKED semester and not my actual laziness lol

Anyways, participating in this production has been the most incredible privilege in my college experience. It gave me new experiences with valuable memories I will forever cherish. I’m so happy to have been able to take on the challenge of a Fosse dance show and expand my performance skills in his unique style of dance.

Fun aside, diving into the character that is Katalin Helinski is an educational experience to remember. Thank you @mattybuff for trusting me in stepping into the shoes of an innocent immigrant who came to the country in hopes of a promising future, only to be given the fate to execution. It has been a challenging yet touching experience. Coming from an immigrant family myself, I hope to have touched those who left to come here under inflexible circumstances.

I can’t thank every single person that was involved in this enough for everything.
Y’all are the best.
