October is here, and we’re making room for a little fall fun 🍂 Here are 31 cozy bucket list ideas for this month; we are going to try to check off as many as possible. Currently, we are on a roadtrip to Colorado so we can definitely check “go for a scenic drive” off the list! It’s been beautiful.

Reading a spooky book isn’t on the list but it probably should be…we are listening to Call of Cthulhu on our drive and I think it’s the perfect pick for October 1st! The boys are both into it so it gets two thumbs up from us.

I tried making a viral homemade cola syrup I saw on IG and had such high hopes. The color? Perfect. The bubbles? Looked great. The first sip? Absolutely not. 😂

I guess it kinda looked like cola. That’s about where the resemblance ended. The most difficult part was getting the correct ratio of syrup to soda water. If you nailed it, it was drinkable but if not, it was just terrible. Needless to say none of us finished our glasses before switching to water so if anything at least it encouraged us to drink more water ha!

I’ll save you at the trouble: don’t try this one.

Our read aloud got the boot, right at the end when I was personally so invested 😂😂 Do you have a graveyard of unfinished books waiting to be finished on your shelf too?? We were just so excited about these shiny new ones!! Also - would you ever start TWO new read alouds in one night to be read in tandem or am I crazy haha

Welcome to my Museum of Failures! This is a get to know me post but not - where I thought it might be interesting to read through my low points instead of my high points. Some of these are funny now. Some still sting a little. Every version of me was doing the best she could with what she knew at the time, but wow did she get it wrong sometimes! I can only hope I can continue learning whatever I need to from each of my missteps.

Consider this your reminder that social media is a highlight reel (even for people who pride themselves on being “raw and real” online). If you ever looked at my pictures or videos and thought I had my life together…jokes on you haha!

1. There’s a Wocket in my Pocket was one I used to make my mom read to me on repeat!! I love the creepy, cute, whimsical story as well as all the rhymes. Classic.

2. All Kinds of Answers is an introduction to prayer and revelation in a kid friendly way.

3. What Should Danny Do? Is a choose your own adventure book that talks about the power to choose. 9 different endings and my kids have read through each one over and over again! Brilliant book.

4. Where Happiness Lives is beauuuuuutifully illustrated and even has cut outs and peak through holes on the pages, which makes it super interactive and fun to read. It’s a sweet story about how we can find happiness wherever we are and why jealousy is pointless.

5. Red Red Red is a very expressive story about big emotions in a small body and how we can breathe our way to a more calm state. Seriously read this one over and over to my boys! They LOVE it.

One worth borrowing: Franklin and the Tooth Fairy. Franklin books have such a relatable storytelling style that navigates common kid issues. I say “worth borrowing” but I’d definitely happily accept the full set of this series lol. A thrift store win!

Some books don’t get a permanent spot on our precious shelf space, but we’re grateful for them while they last. Here are a few we’re getting rid of and why we’re ready to let each one go. It’s a pretty scant stack compared to the inward flow of books to our home but that’s the way I like it honestly! I could probably prune the bookshelves a little more, but this is good for now haha!

Coming up on 14 years of marriage of course there have been ups and downs when it comes to how regular we are, but one thing I’m always recommending is wearing lingerie whether you plan on doing the deed or not AND shopping @mentionables specifically!!
