This is a trial reel, so you must be the intended audience.

This and no genocide. Simple. 🌿🇵🇸

There should be nothing controversial about wanting people to live, be safe, and be free.

Free Palestine. 🇵🇸

✨ This is your sign to give Alocasias another chance.

A few things I wish someone had told me sooner:

🌱 Be patient. A leafless Alocasia isn’t always a dead Alocasia.

🪴 Grow in the substrate you know best, not the one everyone else is using.

🍄 Add mycorrhizae whenever you repot.

🌿 Be gentle with the roots.

💧 Self-watering pots have been a game changer for me.

The biggest lesson? Stop chasing the “perfect” setup. Learn your environment and let your plants guide you. 💚

Have Alocasias humbled you too? 😂

🌿 Slow Down Sunday is back. 🤎

It’s been a while since we’ve had one of these, but life has been kicking my ass lately, so I’m trying to bring them back into rotation. 😂

This Sunday starts with the begonias. I moved them from the top of a cabinet down to the bottom so I could actually enjoy looking at them AND access them more easily.

And as someone who organizes her plants by genus, I’m learning that maybe accessibility matters more than I thought. 😂

Then it was shower time for two of my larger Monsteras. They had been needing a good soak for weeks, so I gave them a thorough rinse to saturate the substrate and clean the leaves of dust, pests, and debris. 🚿🌿

Then I checked in on some of my ambient Hoyas and started my first rotation of a sulfur spray. I noticed some things on a few plants in my prop box that made me suspicious of mites, so I’m taking the preventative route with my Hoyas.

Nothing fancy. Just plants, maintenance, and a little time to slow down.

And honestly, I think I needed it. 🤎

Who else has been feeling like life has been kicking their ass lately? 😂 What are you doing for your Slow Down Sunday?

🌿 Meet the Mother Plants | Anthurium Breeding Series

I’ve been collecting plants for about 5 years and growing Anthuriums for the past 3, and I’m finally ready to start documenting my breeding journey. 🌱

First up is Anthurium Cay Cee X RLFS, grown from seedling and originally acquired from @aroidsinorlando in 2024.

And this particular plant is now fruiting. 👀🌱

This is actually my second Anthurium cross, and watching the process from pollination to fruit has been such a cool experience. There’s just one little problem… 😂

I apparently need to get MUCH better at documenting my crosses because I have no idea who I used as the pollen parent for this one.

So yes, we have officially entered the Mystery Dad Project. 😂

I’m excited to document these mother plants, the crosses, the babies, and everything I learn along the way.

Here’s a little more about how I grow my Anthuriums:

💧 Mostly bottom watering and fertilize w/foliage pro
🌱 I add mycorrhizae at every repot
🪴 Coco-based, chunky and well-aerated
💡 Mostly grow lights from above
🏡 Ambient growing conditions for all mother plants
☀️ A few feet from a south-facing window from behind and they’re definitely starting to tell me they’re getting a little more light than they need 👀

If you’re an experienced Anthurium breeder, what’s one thing you wish someone had told you when you were getting started? 👇🏽🌿

Just a girl and her plants ✨🌱

Happy #tinytuesday—no tiny plants today, just a tiny space taker-upper. Grateful for everyone who shares this tiny corner with me.

I haven’t had the energy to create, but the plant love is still strong. Just popping in to say I’m here, and the plant babies are thriving.

Catch me in my stories at odd hours—your support, even if it feels tiny, means the world. 🧡✨

I’ve been a bit MIA the last week, but I am back… sorta. I have a few updates.
.
.
First of all, happy black history month! So muc I can say about why this month is special to me, but specifically in regards to this hobby, just take a quick scroll down your timeline. How many of the collectors you follow look like me? So much about plant collecting is political. Even me just having access to this hobby. Think about it.
.
.
Last week my birthday came and went. All I wanted to do was relax. I turned 33 and I got exactly what I wanted. Fun fact about me, I LOVE getting older.
.
.
I’ve been trying to get more intentional about my YT channel. I struggle with making content. I don’t like it 😂 but I like sharing my hobbies and interests. I’ve invested in some softwares and gadgets so hoping that gets better. Getting my subscribers up. Link is in my bio 🫶🏾
.
.
I’ve been doing more selling locally and am starting to branch into shipping, which is terrifying! But I’ve been more intentional about what comes into my collection. I added a few new plants this month. You’ll see those in my monthly plant updates videos on YT.
.
.
I am not a daily poster. I don’t have it in me. Between actually caring for my plants, selling, my job as a therapist, my role as a wife, mother, sister, friend, daughter AND trying to get my YT popping off, posting here daily just isn’t in the cards. But I will continue as I am able and appreciate any support you can offer.
.
.
Also, I’m almost at 1k lmao which as inconsistent as I am, I never thought that would happen. So excited for that! Thanks for being here. How’re you doing?

Hoyas are by far my fav plant to grow from clipping. This one has grown surprisingly easy. Love the silver but missing some more of that green from the bottom leaf.

The newest leaf unfurls fierce. Purple power rising from a friend’s corm. Shared plant energy is unbreakable. Loved ones’ gifts thrive the most in my care. No edits. This purple is defiance, deep and alive.

🌱 Woke check: Stuff they hope you ignore

• ICE’s 287(g) scam: Local cops now act as immigration agents, over 1,400 agreements nationwide (Feb 2026). Turns routine stops into deportations.

• Gaza’s Ramadan reality: Tents, ruins, blocked aid despite “ceasefire.” Hundreds killed since truce; starving during holy month.

• ICE chase kills teacher: Savannah, Feb 16, 202, driver fleeing ICE agents ran red light, crashed into Dr. Linda Davis (special ed teacher) on her way to work. Innocent bystander dead over a deportation pursuit
