@lazaro45ive’s worlds hit that sweet spot between fantasy and reality: the kind of cyberpunk megacities you want to lose yourself in, all neon skylines, rain-slick streets, and steel canyons. They’re beautiful, seductive, and charged with the same energy that made us fall in love with Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, and Akira.

But like any good cyberpunk, the shine comes with shadows. His cities are vast, intricate, and alive, yet their sheer scale feels isolating. It’s the paradox we’re already living: hyper-connected in a virtual megacity, yet often alone behind the screen.

Trained in 3D after years in music and virtual photography, and with influences ranging from Dangiuz to Max Hay, Lázaro’s compositions balance the tension of the genre with small, quiet details. The dream of living in these worlds is powerful, and Lázaro understands that pull. But the reality he encodes in them, the alienation, the architectural dominance, the way technology shapes and contains our movements, suggests they might not be as far from our own existences as we think.

It’s a place we dream to live in, a place we might already be.

Umberto Votta (aka Lazaro) is a Milan-based digital artist who creates cinematic cyberpunk worlds that explore memory, nostalgia, and the emotional relationship between people and the places they inhabit. Using Blender, he builds immersive cityscapes from the ground up, combining architectural precision with atmospheric storytelling to evoke the feeling of remembering places that never existed. His work asks why we feel nostalgic for imagined worlds, suggesting that nostalgia is often rooted not in the past, but in the places we wish we belonged. Hidden within nearly every piece is a small wooden sailing ship, symbolizing memory, exploration, and the enduring connection between identity and place.
