Little fish and big fish. Do I detect a pattern?

I like this makers work, but one of the last you’d expect to make a bow tie. And it’s a decent one. Nice material and it even has two sides. You can see the unadorned but electric green poking through here and there. It’s the same green as the marlins on the face.

Palm trees, or maybe palmettos ?

Sold sewn shut. I had a very hard time cutting this open, perhaps even damaging the tie. But a decent tie.

This is a very snappy tie. Cotton seersucker covered with tiny paisleys. How are the paisleys put there ? They are too small to be embroidered, but they are not part of the print. They look and feel like they’ve been stamped on, is that a thing ?

Good proportions for this style of tie, and it’s light and crisp.

Yes 3 ties in a single day ! As I pulled out some ties this morning, magically these three ties came out. And I noticed a similarity in the pattern, and I appreciated the steady increase in the color pink. It made sense.

Good tie, nice fabric, electric color and a sexy j-hook.

Bow Tie Tuesday

OK time to keep up with this huge number of ties this segment.

You can see where this was folded when they sewed it shut at the factory, and that crease also betrays where I wildly overshot the apex. I should have paid more attention.

Cotton tie, a little rough, a little stiff. Oh and it has a stretchy hook pocket, which always seems notable to me.

The greatest name in tie history. A great story, dig it up.

Sold sewn shut, but gently so few creases. 60/40 Silk Poly blend. Long and low but much thicker fabric so the knot is much larger, and it has that nice horizontality that I like so much. Plenty of room eveywhere.

And we’re off. This is going to be a long segment. In November 2018 I wore something like 60 ties. 2 ties each day, both of them new. I was young and crazy then, and had too many new ties in the new tie bin. I will do some doubles here, but not every day. I’m older now.

We start with this strong geometric pattern in polyester (no shame in that). It was sold sewn shut and when I liberated it from its bonds it was heavily creased. But we overcame.

I cut it close. I couldn’t justify the cost of these two wonderful and wonderfully matched garments, so I’ve been watching and hoping for them to show up on clearance. And then all of a sudden there they were, the tie was still available and one and only one shirt was left in stock, and it was in my size!

Anyway, am I done with the Bonus Round? Maybe, I have the next segment picked out and ready to wear.

Special occasion today. It is not unheard of for me to change ties in the middle of the day, but it is very rare indeed for me to change my shirt as well.

Here we have a long tie buy the man down under. Perfectly nice, well made. A long tie is pretty much a long tie.

Also a bit of a double play as I am wearing one if his pocket squares as well.
