It's been a long time coming but glad to finally get some good whisky and spirits to you, all the way fae bonnie Aberdeenshire.

When we were loading the lorry a few weeks ago we had this song playing in our heads so there was only one way to announce it. by @lbdspirits

🏆Product Launch of the Year

Winners get announced in November but we're just chuffed to make the finals!

This news comes hot off the announcement that we are also nominated for Spirits Bottler of the Year at @spiritsbusiness
Awards as well.

No bad eh.

Massive thanks for your support and if everyone can just cross their fingers and toes we've maybe got a small chance of bringing home for more paperweights.

Turns out it's almost 3 years to the day since our last teaspooned malt.

The warehouse looks drastically different but our attitude to teaspooning hasn't changed much so this is worth a repost by @lbdspirits

Our warehouse releases, there's never a plan. We don't say X number s sherry, x number of peated, x number of anything.

It's always been, these are what we think are ready in the warehouse, right now. So on this occasion, that's 7 different bottles.

Some of these will disappear pretty quickly, others are bigger batch and designed to be discovered by the whisky curious.

Batch 2 of our very curious high rye mash bourbon adjacent Scottish spirit drink, not really sure what else to call it but you lot oved it so here's some more.

It is honestly a real privilege to be able to share some incredible whiskies with so many of you now and we're really excited to see these bottles arrive in new markets for us around the world as well as continuing to work with some of the best Independent retailers in the UK.

This has been a fun whisky to watch evolve. First bottled at 8, then 9 years, now we have the final release of this vatting of casks. A parcel of stock with an unusually high angels share resulting in a low cask strength towards 40%. This blend is our sharing dram, the depth and complexity of a cask strength whisky but at a much more approachable abv and style, our sharing whisky. well technically all whisky is sharing whisky but you know what we mean.

We did consider bottling this with a champagne cork because there's no need to put the cork back in the bottle after opening.

After vatting the spirit was transferred back into 2nd fill hogsheads, deliberately quiet wood because we wanted to see more oxidation as it aged without adding too much wood. Interestingly it seems to have taken a bigger step change between 9-10 than 8-9, a little richer and longer than before but still with that toast,, honey and beeswax.

it's highly unlikely that we'll be able to recreate this but it's been fun to do and we hope you folks have had some fun with it. We've enjoyed reading your posts about this wee blend and glad that the concept of a cask strength session dram made as much sense to so many of you.

Glen Elgin 2013 - Pineau des Charantes barrique.

You know each of our labels means something, so for this bottling we've got a painting of a meadow and a grasshopper.
Why?
Well Andrew and his brother were sent out to France as teens to improve their French and keep their Grandmother happy. The language might not have improved much but the young teens came back with a taste for Pineau and fond memories of catching grasshoppers in the fields surrounding the vineyards. It was a long time ago and maybe things have changed in France, but nobody seemed to raise an eyelid about offering us pineau but heaven forbid you ask for a coffee after your meal at 16!

Normally when we cannot name a distillery we use the what3words to geotag the stillhouse. With this particular release, well we didn't think that was necessary. If you still need a clue, it isn't Scapa.

Wonderfully textured spirit, layers as you sip and even if we do say so ourselves, incredible value for money for a 24 year old Single Malt at cask strength.

Wee puffins on the label, who doesn't like a puffin?! 'mon the puffins.

Strathmill 2015 - Single Cream Sherry Hoggie

The Aberlour is about a sherried smack to the chops, this is much more in the LBD style of sherry. Beautiful balance between sherry and distillate.
