i am so excited for this season of Pilates instruction!!
(CLASS BOOKING LINK IN PROFILE)

if you are waking up tight and lethargic (hayyyy, that’s probably most of us) come see me in the mornings for Pilates just like Joe intended—thoughtful, deliberate and rooted in the classical system. Start your day with intentional movement so you can walk thru your day a little more put together. Rise and shine Pilates is for you 🧡

if you have a growing and developing child, come see me on Thursday afternoons. I am SO stoked for this class. If you’ve known me for any length of time, you know I love kids. I am passionate about teaching teens/kids how to move comfortably in their bodies—how to engage with bodies that are rapidly changing and can seem foreign. Pilates for kids is for you 🧡

if you have been doing Pilates for a while and want to progress…come see me on Thursday evenings for intermediate Pilates. I’ll work you hard (IYKYK), but it’s always my aim to have you walking out of the doors feeling seen, strong, capable and beautiful. Intermediate Classical Pilates is for you 🧡

and if you’re just curious about all of this Pilates stuff • if you feel intimated by a group class but would like to gain the confidence to get there • if you want to progress • if you want specialized attention • DM me about private lessons. I would love to work with you 🧡 by @lbroere

the fun one
the force forward
the one who dreams
the one who wears all the hats (and does it well)
the one who remembers to turn on lamps and light candles
the one with the playlists
the one who opens jars and fixes broken things
the one who remembers
the one who gets us there on time (and smiling)
the one who has a plan…and sees a way thru
the one who believes the best
the one who brings me coffee in bed

YOU are our favorite part of every day.
Happy Father’s Day to the one. We all adore you.
I love you too much ❤️ by @lbroere

•cried again because monks singing acapella command reverence
•smiled (probably considered crying again) because the subtle and natural pop of aqua is 🤌🏼
•waterlillies because @laybroere 💕
•well-loved because @neilbroere showed up for our four hour (turned five) drive with a list of deep dive heart questions

moved by beauty + delight was everything I didn’t know I needed but for sure did by @lbroere

Raising these remarkable humans to be wise-hearted and hope-filled has been and continues to be my greatest privilege, mission and calling. I thank the Lord for the grace to lean into and yield to motherhood…to recieve and hold with reverence my favorite name.

And look how amazing they are?!? They are my Sistine Chapel, the work of my life. Walk tall out there, mamas—you are shaping generations and painting worlds.

How happy it is to be a mother—to be THEIR mother. I’m grateful. by @lbroere

When I was a kid, I heard my dad say “gahlee”. Naturally, I felt a little bit of thrill in the word and so I worked it into my daily vernacular—particularly when I wanted to wow and dazzle another adult or get a reaction—AS MOST KIDS DO.

The pastor’s wife of the tiny conservative church we went to was far from wowed and dazzled by me. She told my mom that I was taking the Lord’s name in vain and that my mom needed to wash my mouth out with soap so that I would learn. I’m sure she meant well, but I’m also pretty sure that’s not what that scripture is referring to (happy to share my thoughts—you can DM me).

Anyway.
My mom washed my mouth out with soap, per the pastor’s wife’s instructions. Bar soap. I bit down hard. And I still remember the feeling of digging soap out of my toddler molars.

My mom tells me that I never said “gahlee” again 😇 (but I did bring a baby snake to church and stuck chewed gum under the pew a time or two…cause mischief works its way out).

This story came up with my mom a while back and we had a nice laugh. She apologized and confessed how often she thought about that day and wished she could go back do it differently. I didn’t feel harmed by it—it’s actually a funny life story. But her acknowledgement that it was wack advice and she was sad she took it felt sweet to my heart.

I also found this hat (love the algorithm for this).
My daughter bought it for me.
Now I’m a pastor’s wife—to some people— with a “gahlee” hat bought for me by my daughter and if that ain’t full circle, I don’t know what is.

Here’s to full circle moments that let us fist bump our little girl selves (cause let’s be honest, she was pretty awesome). by @lbroere

He is and always has been the most tender soul. He has held adventure and all the boy things in tension with softness. This has been his story and the great challenge of motherhood with him—how to I keep him soft while keeping him strong? How to I keep him living from his heart without getting bristly. Life will make you that way, bristly. It will make the tender hearted hide behind strong walls. But not him. We are carving a new path.

There are plenty of wise minded men in the world (and I’m grateful for them). But my aim is to raise a wise HEARTED man. And he is well on his way. I am the MOST PROUD.

I can’t wait to meet my 13 year old son and to live in all the beauty and challenge of this year together. LETS DO THIS.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Judah Wait 🦁 by @lbroere

One of the things I learned as a very young mom—and one of the things the Lord PRESSED INTO MY LIFE in the most challenging, revealing and sweetest ways during our time in overseas missions was how to find Him in the midst and in the mess of motherhood—how to find Him scrubbing tile floors for the third time a day because of dust storms and dirty feet….how to find him over sinks full of dishes and little hands tugging at the hem of my pants….how to find him over diapers and tears and tantrums (sometimes my own 😬🫣). He lives in every moment with us, you know—waiting to minister, waiting to be worshiped, waiting. I think we just miss Him in those moments because we think somewhere deep inside that He is mostly found in the swell of a worship song or in quiet, set apart time…in mountain tops and solitude. But I’m here to tell you that He has dirt under his nails from being on the floors with us, on diaper duty…over sinks of breakfast dishes, hands plunged in dirty water…with us. Anyway—I’ll climb off my sermon here to say this…..

Yesterday, I looked next to me at our church gathering and saw my sweet friend…someone I’ve been joyfully pouring my life into for a while now….finding Him with her baby by her side…leading the way to His feet for her daughter. Moments like that don’t just happen, mama. She has carved a path to Jesus in the mess of every day life—seven days a week. I’m sure most of those daily life moments don’t include mountain tops with God, epic worship music swells, solitude and warm fuzzy feelings….they include hard choices to push thru messes and harness what could seem like distractions in order to be driven to His feet. And I am just so proud.

YOU ARE THE WORSHIP LEADER OF YOUR HOME 😭 I would shout it from rooftops—I am, I guess. My little corner of Instagram is my rooftop. I am proud of you, mama. I see you. KEEP GOING 🤍 by @lbroere

sweet 16 💛
the sweetest 16

There is not a single part of her that doesn’t wow and dazzle me—from the shape of her eyes when she smiles to the landscape of her heart. She is perceptive, steady, kind and gentle. She is smart and she is funny. She loves babies, old people and pajamas. Chicken soup and Hallmark movies. She loves Jesus, big trucks and her daddy. She once picked up lice from a refugee camp and loved them so much that she couldn’t bear the thought of killing them.

She is a soft place to land and warmth in our little world. She’s growing into everything a lady should be. And we all love her so much. Happy 16th Adalei Grace 💕 by @lbroere

I was talking to a friend the other day about hosting—something many of us will be doing in some form over the coming days and weeks. Holidays, for most people, is a time to host or be hosted—to gather around tables and in homes. For many, hosting holiday gatherings becomes primarily about food and table settings. But there is an opportunity in hosting that I think is important for us to see and steward well.

I have noticed in all of my hosting thru the years (we do a WHOLE lot of it) that the things that seem to get my immediate attention are the cerebral things, things take up the most head space—meal planning, cooking and cleaning—making beds and spaces cozy. Those things are important and have to be done—but those things are not, in my opinion, THE THINGS. Those take up my mind. But what about my heart.

You see—when people come into our homes and gather around our tables, we have the awesome privilege of hosting a human heart—with all its complexities and yes, sometimes brokenness. We have tables full of hearts asking to belong…to be seen and heard. Sometimes those hearts are in chaos and disorder, begging for peace and rest. Sometimes those hearts need safe spaces to release and let out their signs, their hopes and their dreams and maybe if we are lucky, they’ll find space to release their disappointments.

So while we gather in this holiday season, may we all have the grace to soften and see the hearts and not just the bellies and bodies around our tables. And may we even soften with ourselves just a little—because hosting a human heart is hard and holy work. And just like the turkey we smoke, the pies we bake and the beds that we make—hosting the human heart might not be perfectly executed at first, but it’s good and the effort is seen.

One practice I will leave everyone with….
This is something I did with my children as they were growing and learning—as I was teaching them how to host and how to see people.

I fuss every few days about the dirt they’ve tracked into the house…. and the dirty handprints that line EVERY SINGLE WALL….and the bath tubs…and their new clothes…AND WHY WON’T THEY WEAR SHOES (they are the most grounded humans)?!? But if I’m honest and get over myself (+ the desire for clean floors), I love this about them. They are everything I wanted in a boy.

And if anyone on the central coast finds they need a bunker or we get another random tornado warning, my boys GOT YOU COVERED. They’ve successfully dug a multi-room hole with built in seating. HOW SMART ARE THEY?! 😂😍 by @lbroere

•and she’s off•
Just like that—18 years of intimate, face-to-face shaping and the little stone God placed in my care is now a polished arrow placed firmly in the Master Archers hand.

I could write volumes about this season and all the beauty found in honoring God in the way we release our babies, but I won’t (just have coffee with me, I’ll tell you all about it). It has been refining and full of so much grace. Grace I could swim in.

All this to say :)
I am so proud.
I am so expectant.
I am so confident in who SHE is and who Jesus is IN her.
