I am so proud of all of my horses for stepping up and doing all that I asked of them this year.

Getting 3 horses qualified for the world show in multiple ranch horse events (in my “free time” when I wasn’t helping my jumper clients get qualified for their goals) was a lot to take on. I’m really proud of @c.s.langan and I for getting it done…A+ to Connor for driving the trailer, managing the schedule, and he rode Al E Gator beautifully considering this was his first year ever riding in a western saddle and I made him show in all of the events!

Between family stuff and my professional commitments, I’ve spread myself a little bit too thin. I believe in my horses and I believe in myself, but driving them all the way to Oklahoma to compete in the world show is a lot to ask. While they were fabulous all year, I feel that they are underprepared and that staying home and doing our homework is a better use of our time.

I have to remind myself that it took me almost 4 years to get Cody to a place where we were putting patterns together consistently enough to feel comfortable going to the world championships, and my two new horses have been with me for less than a year. And they are more green, they are completely different rides, and they just don’t have as many miles on them.

I know that they don’t give a damn whether they go to a horse show, but they do care when I present them with something that I haven’t adequately prepared them for.

It’s OK to sit things out! It’s not OK to push your horses to feed your ego.

So I’m finishing out the year with an awesome show closer to home and moving my goal posts for 2027!

Thank you Cody, Ali, and Frank for inspiring my dreams and making me feel like a real cowgirl!

Thanks to my amazing son for being a great horse show kid, never complaining about time on the road (because he loves seeing his horse show friends!)

Thanks Connor for all that you do. Even when I am the world’s meanest wife (and the slightly more talented member of the husband and wife training team 😜)

I had a fantastic time at the Keystone Showdown!

I feel like I’m really starting to click with my two new horses, and they rose the occasion for me, despite having to be saddle for quite long periods of time on very hot days!

Thank you to my husband Connor Langan for the assistance and for catch riding Ali on the flat for me, and to Jonathan Meilleur for always being willing to help me and educate me, fitting me in for a lesson at the end of his busy show day, even though he didn’t have to do it! I got so much good information in that lesson and I feel as though it made a huge improvement already!

Looking forward to continuing journey next week at the dream park with these amazing creatures! by @lc_langan

This week gets a 100/10.

This horse did everything I asked from the time we unloaded until the time we got home. Now, if only I could get him to ignore me when I ask him the wrong thing…

The photographer offered to photoshop this first picture of our jog in for the stakes class, and I told her to leave it because this perfectly showcases his personality and is a message to all of his haters 😜

I’ve been to the world show 4 times now. I’ve been in the top 5 multiple times, I’ve been top 3 NSBA, but this may have been my favorite trip because I went there on a horse that is complicated, to compete in events that I’ve only recently started studying, and although we did not make the callbacks, the horse went the best he has ever gone for me in the entire time I have owned him, with my favorite being our final class of the trip.

I came home with a lot of homework, a lot of ambition, and some crazy goals for 2026, but I am so excited to continue this journey and I’m so privileged that I get the opportunity to have such a unique hobby ❤️ by @lc_langan

WESTERN RIDING LESSONS now available

As of December 1, 2025, I will be offering western lessons, specifically geared towards those looking to learn about western horsemanship, ranch riding and ranch trail. Lessons are available at my facility Great Scott Farm, or at your facility (within reasonable driving distance).

Ranch Riding is a western event that can be enjoyed by any level of rider, and is an amazing crossover discipline for those coming from an English background. Come and find out why it is the most rapidly growing western discipline!

I will also be continuing to provide full service training and coaching to my hunter/jumper clientele, whether they choose to show USEF or AQHA.

many thanks to the Southern Maryland Quarter Horse Association for putting on such a great horse show, the Suntan Circuit! It sure was worth my time to drive down to that beautiful part of our country! Cody gave me 150% on 100° day, I can’t ask for more from this amazing little horse! High Point Ranch Horse, High Point All Breed All Around, and the VRH winner as well.

Cody is taking a short vacation for the rest of the summer until it cools off a little bit, but I am looking forward to a jampacked fall season with some incredible horse shows on our calendar!
