 Championship character runs deep in this group, showing up daily through their response to adversity, injuries, and change. What’s stood out most isn’t just who’s been available, but how this team has responded — next player up, full belief, and unwavering support for one another. Every practice, every game, every adjustment has been met with toughness, joy, and trust in the process. Our Senior Girls knows that adversity doesn’t define you — your response does. Because of that, they remain focused, united, and confident as they push forward together. Lightning Strike Gold: LCS Senior Boys Capture 3A Provincial Championship and Complete Historic Four-Year Run 🏆 By any measure, what the Langley Christian Lightning Senior Boys just accomplished isn’t merely a championship - it’s a legacy carved into BC high school volleyball history, a Lightning Legacy. None of this happens without the coaches who shaped them. Head coach Taylor Howe provided the steady leadership and competitive edge that anchored the team, while assistant coaches Eric Van Huizen, Mike Wiens, and Joel Kleingeltink brought expertise, mentorship, and a deep commitment to developing young men as much as student-athletes. And behind this final chapter stand the many coaches who guided the group in the years before - laying foundations, teaching fundamentals, and nurturing the character that ultimately defined this team. Just as vital was the unwavering support of the parents, whose dedication, encouragement, and presence through every high and low helped sustain and strengthen this remarkable group. For Langley Christian School, for this roster, and for a community that followed every rally, this title isn’t just a championship. What does it look like to compete and coach in a way that reflects Jesus? We were grateful to hear an encouraging message from Coach Cori Close, head coach of UCLA Women’s Basketball, as she challenged our LCS Athletics community to consider a simple but powerful question: Are we givers or takers? In a culture that often asks, “What can I get?”, Coach Close reminded us that followers of Jesus are called to ask, “What can I give?” Whether on the court, the field, the sidelines, or in the stands, our goal is to serve others, elevate teammates, and honor Christ through the way we compete and coach.
