Spent the last two days teaching SALAD at @thelifeguardproject responder round up and was in awe. It’s always been hard to define the difficulties experienced on calls with a multi agency response and @thelifeguardproject took that nuanced issue and did more than define it, they turned it into two days of high fidelity drowning simulation/training. Lifeguards, EMS, Fire, parks, flight, CHP, harbor patrol, , rescue, ED, nurses—all coming together to not only learn and fine tune their skills but their communication, collaboration and interagency response. This is what first responder training should look like. We don’t exist in a vacuum and we should t train like it either. 🤝🤙⭐️ taken in Morro Bay, California by @le_chadd

Happy EMS week to all the crazy, salty, funny, badass, smart af, Edp, juul huffing, monster chugging, taquito funneling, “kat you left your stethoscope on the truck again” texting, partners and colleagues that make coming to work everyday suck a little less (jk I’m a weirdo and love my job - even tho we get paid less than McDonald’s employees) thanks for all the patience and knowledge y'all have given me while I figure out how to do this whole paramedic thing. many not pictured cuz I'm always losing my phone but iykyk. Recently vol.3 👋 spent 10 days at a hotel in the Bronx to finish up medic internship and terrified the cleaning crews with all the sticky note flashcards I stuck to every surface of my room about brain herniation and fentanyl doses. Shoved some et tubes down a few very anatomically correct mannequin's throats at Bellevue sim lab. Attempted to take a break and see my family in which I struggled deeply to find anything to talk about other than medicine, which annoyed all parties involved.Found a sweet pic of Jackie chan in a pink windbreaker. Started wearing bearded masks to work and finally got back to drinking booze again. ✌ by @le_chadd

dear diary, i recently re committed to smoking, according to the French and to science, nicotine may help prevent covid, don’t care if my source was the ny post, I chose to believe. I figured out wearing my hair in buns also doubles as mask support. Yung lean thank you for your service, and the Empire State Building looked so cute all lit up as an ambulance I almost crashed my car trying to look at it. TTFN! by @le_chadd
