Tanečnici, choreografku, manažerku a multidisciplinární umělkyni s francouzskými kořeny vyzpovídala taneční kritička @kocourkovalucy. 🎭

„Jako umělecká ředitelka chci do Ostravy přivést choreografy, kteří posunou fyzické hranice našich tanečníků a zároveň uchvátí diváky. Jde mi o vybudování repertoáru, který by sahal od brilantní klasiky a neoklasiky až po nekompromisní, elektrizující současnou tvorbu,“ říká Greck v obsáhlém rozhovoru.

🇨🇿 🩰 Věděli jste, že choreografie Requiem Ley Bessoudo Greck měla v inscenaci Nejen Mozart! baletu NDM světovou premiéru? ✨
Requiem patří mezi nejznámější klasické skladby vůbec. Zpracování Ley Bessoudo Greck na ni však nabízí jiný pohled, než na jaký jsme zvyklí. Zatímco v Mozartově pojetí dominuje temná, tíživá atmosféra blízkosti smrti, choreografka téma posouvá jiným směrem. Stěžejní je myšlenka, že smrt nemusí být konec, ale vstupní brána do jiného světa. Choreografie je tak koncipována jako cesta mezi dvěma světy – z chladného, mechanického do smyslného a více svobodného.
📅 Přijďte se přesvědčit sami – Requiem uvidíte jako součást komponovaného večera Nejen Mozart!, 23. a 24. září a 4. října 2026 v Divadle Jiřího Myrona.

🇬🇧 🩰 Did you know that Lea Bessoudo Greck’s choreography for Requiem had its world premiere in the NDM ballet production “More than Mozart!”? ✨
Requiem is among the most famous classical compositions of all. However, Lea Bessoudo Greck’s interpretation offers a different perspective than we’re used to. While Mozart’s conception is dominated by a dark, oppressive atmosphere of closeness to death, the choreographer shifts the theme in a different direction. The central idea is that death doesn’t have to be an end, but rather a gateway into another world. The choreography is thus conceived as a journey between two worlds — from a cold, mechanical one to a sensual and more free one.
📅 Come see for yourself – you can watch Requiem as part of the composed evening More than Mozart!, on September 23 and 24 and October 4, 2026 at the Jiří Myron Theatre.

🇨🇿 🩰 Poznejte soubor baletu NDM! ✨ 42 tanečnic a tanečníků z celého světa, spojených jednou vášní – tancem. S novou sezónou se změnilo nejen vedení souboru, ale také jeho složení. Zatímco některé členy znáte už z předchozích sezón, jiní se představí nově. Přijďte na některé z představení, jež pro vás v nadcházejících týdnech chystáme. Třeba na komponovaný večer Nejen Mozart!, který v Divadle Jiřího Myrona uvedeme 23. a 24. září. Těšíme se na Vás!

🇬🇧 42 dancers from all over the world, united by one passion – dance. With the new season, not only has the ensemble’s leadership changed, but its lineup as well. While you already know some of the members from previous seasons, others will be introduced for the first time. Come to one of the performances we’re preparing for you in the coming weeks. For example, the composite evening “More than Mozart!”, which we’ll be presenting at the Jiří Myron Theatre on September 23 and 24. We look forward to seeing you!

🇨🇿 🎭 Balet NDM má od letošní sezóny novou šéfku Leu Bessoudo Greck.
Režisérka, choreografka, tanečnice a audiovizuální umělkyně francouzského původu Lea Bessoudo Greck s Národním divadlem moravskoslezským spolupracovala již dříve. Vytvořila choreografii pro operu Braniboři v Čechách v režii Jiřího Nekvasila a baletní choreografie Šárka a Requiem. Od sezóny 2026/2027 stojí v čele baletního souboru NDM.

🇬🇧 🎭 The NDM Ballet has a new head, Lea Bessoudo Greck, starting this season.
Director, choreographer, dancer, and audiovisual artist of French origin Lea Bessoudo Greck has already collaborated with the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre before. She created the choreography for the opera The Brandenburgers in Bohemia directed by Jiří Nekvasil, as well as the ballet choreographies Šárka and Requiem. From the 2026/2027 season, she is the new artistic director of the NDM balet company.

Ostrava, I am honored to become part of this prestigious institution. With deep respect for its rich artistic legacy, I look forward to carrying its tradition forward while opening new creative paths. I strongly believe in the power of dance as a universal language—one that communicates emotion, builds connections, and inspires transformation. The 2026–2027 season presents two exciting premieres: Giselle by Andrea Helander Kramešová (after Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot, and Marius Petipa), and Under the Skin, featuring a new creation by Jacopo Godani alongside two renowned works by Marco Goecke. These
premieres reflect ballet’s evolving language, honoring heritage while embracing innovation.

Today, I close an extraordinary chapter: 11 years with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.
A place that became home.
A place to be, to research, to grow, to create, to collaborate, to take risks, to learn, to guide, to give, to receive, and to love.
