Setting cutting weight (+/- 0.2 grams) with a custom scale i built. Confirming the actual record groove width between 50-70 microns. Learned the hard way all kinds of problems occur with groove outside this range. by @leadscrewgrooves

Made a replacement 192 LPI feedscrew & half-nut for a 1950s Rek-O-Kut record lathe for our friends @lathecuts. Mass respect for the original designers & tool makers of the era. by @leadscrewgrooves

Measuring vinyl record groove width achieved under magnification on my lathe. My grooves measure 50 microns (0.05mm, each hash = 0.01mm) with a cutter head weight of 13 grams. Per our friends @spinnertownblanks the goldilocks target is 50 - 70 microns. I'm good to go! by @leadscrewgrooves

Finished vacuum platter to hold discs flat during cutting. Measured wobble: 0.003” / 0.08mm at outer edge with vacuum on. by @leadscrewgrooves
