📚 big fan of libraries and slow reading :)

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Book review: *MILD SPOILERS*
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 3.5

*edit: last slide should be “…I was never truly swept up…”

I left out a side character in this review but Ferma I love youuuu…she’s so cool y’all…

Fair warning, this is the first review of three fantasy books I think were overhyped! There’s more to come 💀💀💀💀 but fear not I will be doing reviews for books I enjoyed :)

Also this format of reviews is a real energy saver so I’ll prob keep doing it, esp for reviews where I’m not raving,,,,

If anyone has recs for fantasy they’re willing to stake their life on, put them in the comments ;) by @leaf_inthebookstore

Book review:
There Is No Antimemetics Division
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5.0

• These things happen. And we say to ourselves, “Never again.” And a hundred years pass. And they happen. Again. •

TWO reviews in a month? Im just as surprised as you are…the last two paras could flow better but oh wellll Im just glad I actually wrote smth

I did a reread of this book just to see if I was going to put a five star and yk what. yea. yea. I’ll give it all five. I should prob make clear that my five stars dont need to be perfect, they just need the extra sauce ✨that makes me go 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Take care of yourselves everyone!! If you havnt already, and it’s available, drink water, eat, grab a shower! Sleep…well thats a tough one but I hope yall get some :)

🚇 The Burn Line 🚇

⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 3.5

“It’s the hottest summer on record and London is dying. Prices are high, pay is low, and stressed commuters are packed onto London Underground trains again like the pandemic never happened. To add to the misery, the temperatures underground just keep climbing and climbing, the heat trapped in the clay with nowhere to go.

Then one fateful morning five travellers on an unlucky tube carriage find themselves bound together as witnesses to a single horrific event – an event they can’t quite seem to remember.

They make an unlikely team – a weary tube driver, a disillusioned civil servant, an ambitious city trader, an overwhelmed hotel worker, and an unhoused young man just trying to get by – but now they must come together to confront what they have seen and stop it in its tracks before it kills them all.”

Thank you @netgalley and @poisonedpenpress for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

Writing reviews again after a long break got me feeling like im pulling teeth but hey at least it’s out! I don’t often read horror but had to make an exception for this bc I love tma so muchhhh

Hope everyone had a great April! Feel free to drop a hi in the comments hehe and if you have a horror book you enjoyed :) by @leaf_inthebookstore

🐊 A Drop of Corruption 🐊 : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hey how’s everyone doing?

Uni is killing me but I found some time to finish up the edit so here you go!! I’ve had this in my drafts for soooo long and and I realised the written review doesn’t translate every well over into ig posts but wtv I’m not changing it anymore ahahaha

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from making this account, it’s that I could never be a content creator 💀💀💀 but it’s still fun and I’ll try and put out reviews as and when I can! Hope y’all had a nice October :)

PS: anyone like murderbot? I’ve been slowly making my way through them and I’m OBSESSED

🎭 June Wrap Up 🎭

Happy end of june!!! This is coming a bit late bc I’ve been kinda busy in the past few week but better late than never…

tbh most of these books were completed during the first half of june, and I binged a lot when I was on holiday 😵‍💫 Something about being on an island with no signal and only your downloaded library/personal books available 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Unfortunately this many books also means idk if I can actually make full reviews for each of them, so I’ll prob skip the ones in a series more books ahead and review those later.

ALSO I had the opportunity to watch a local production of Much Ado About Nothing hehehe anyways this is your reminder to support your local arts scene 🫡

Put down something cool you did (no matter how small) in June! I love hearing from y’all <333

Book Review: You Deserve Each Other
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 4.5

First romance book of 2025!!! 🏆 Shoutout to my friend for lending me her copy 🥰😘😘

Had a lot of fun with this, it’s quick and fun and the chemistry is THERE it’s just hidden below the miscommunication and crazy hijinks. Low on the smut scale (can’t believe I just typed that out) which is good for the people who aren’t interested in that but still satisfying enough for the super spicy crowd imo!

Hope everyone is having a nice June, mine is just a backlog of reviews 😭🙏 which is why this post is a little simpler than usual. Might keep it up for the rest depending on how much time. We’ll see…

NEXT UP: one of my fav books of the year so far :))

PS: if anyone has recs for books like this send them my way hehe

Book review + quotes:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 4.5

This series is the sort that I expect will end up being a classic fable in the future and anyone who hasn’t read it is missing out 😤😤😤

I struggled a bit with the review not only bc the book has lots of twists and turns that I don’t want to spoil, but also bc it’s just good????

idk it’s just one of those books yk… same goes for the first book — if you’re wondering why I didn’t do a review for that one it’s bc the only thing I would be able to say is THIS BOOK GOOD, 5 STARS. Usually I require 5 star books to have an ✨it ✨ factor but it was wholly without flaw so after some deliberation i gave it a full 5 :)

Ok I’m done talking about two books in a review only meant for one 💀 any short stories yall have read recently? Or anything on your tbr?

Arc Review (already released):
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 3.0

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

As part of the Deluxe edition, we got an extra scene at the back of the book was very cute, and I also loved the recipes provided, as well as the story behind them!

This is a pretty cute book but tbh I think there’s better ones out there. If you want another book like this but with stronger emotional stakes, def try Legends and Lattes.

Also I barely got this out yall im posting this with hours to spare… from now on I’m only applying for one arc a month 😭🙏🙏🙏

If anyone has recs for more cozy fantasies lemme know hehe ;)

work is sooo bad for my reading habits… happy end-of-may everyone!!! Hope y’all had a good month hehe

I genuinely thought that I had read more than this but i guess not HAHAHA it’s been quite an exciting month for me and I expect June will be the same! Watched Macbeth and it was soooo good. I need to actually study and analyse the play now.

What’s one nice thing that happened to you this month? I’d love to hear how y’all are doing :))

Arc review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 3

I deliberated for a while about how much I should post about this book, and how critical I wanted to go, mostly because I want this acc to be a place where I share things that make me happy or that are interesting, and I suppose this comes under the latter!!

This wasn’t my cup of tea but I think it could still be someone’s, so take a look through my review and let me know what you think :)) Also thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the ARC 💜

Pros:
- sapphic mages
- fun battles
- has one side character I love
- really cool women in general

Cons:
- tell-not-show writing
- awkward diaglogue
- wish there was more time dedicated to the magic system

Would rec for anyone who likes those classic fantasy adventure stories, or anyone who wants to read a D&D campaign but as a book 😵‍💫

What do y’all think of critical reviews? Do you ever post them?

🌘The seven deadly sins book tag 🌒

Second post of the week??? Who is she…

Was inspired by @emmasbookfair for this! You should go and see her post as well hehe

Super fun challenge and honestly I have one or two ideas for another seven deadly sins book post I’d like to do sometime, but now I need to get cracking on the arc that’s due in *checks* five days 😀

Tagging anyone who sees this! I’d love to see your picks!! If you’re too lazy or don’t have time then drop them in the comments ;) Also thoughts on the books? “A book I’ll always rec” was hard for me bc there’s a couple other books I’d also rec but only with a page full of disclaimers 💀🙏
