Keith built our own hot spring before he got cancer and now we are all happier, healthier, and learning how to teach our baby to swim in it while enjoying our little swimming four year old.

I have been deeply cherishing our newborn bubble, knowing more how brief and precious it is this second time around 🫧💫 🐐 Estella was born at home on 11/11/25 around 11 am with just about 1 hour of labor and only her big sister Karmella present for her emergence! Keith had just stepped outside but was there to support me seconds after. It’s also wild to me that she weighed and measured the same exact numbers as her sister did. Birthing my babies will always be in my favorite memories. I am amazed at how we get to co-create, grow, birth, and raise humans from their purest form.

We are still praying for Keith’s full recovery, now from surgery ❤️‍🩹 Even with him gone in the hospital for a small bowel resection a lot of my immediate postpartum, I had the first two weeks of pure bed rest made possible thanks to him. Since, I have been moving slow to take care of our toddler and farm, baby wearing daily. Thank you for capturing these special moments so wonderfully @taylorrae.photo ❤️

We are selling our beautiful secondhand sailboat ⛵️ that Keith’s worked so hard to fix since he hasn’t been able to work, and dedicating ourselves to the farm full time. Isabella, Keith, and Karmella in their magical food forest — a place they’ve crafted and cultivated with their own hands. Their own piece of Florida jungle that gives back in healing, nourishment, and abundance.

The season that they are walking through is unimaginable, but spending this evening with them was such a wonderful reminder of an unshakable hope. There already were so many glimmers and glimpses of healing all around them: light in a dark world, flowers and fruit that grow in dry seasons, joy even in seasons of pain, wells of water in the wilderness, and broken chains at the weight of our Creator’s marvelous glory.

These moments reminded me of the incredible words of Isaiah 35 —

“The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad;
the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God. Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lie down, the grass shall become reeds and rushes. This is Isabella, writing to share our current hardship, the reason for our recent silence on here, and ask for support for our family. I am currently seven months pregnant, and the full time caregiver to our three-year-old daughter. Keith, my partner and the sole provider for our family, has been diagnosed with an aggressive small bowel lymphoma cancer, and he’s in need of a break from work to be able to heal. He does intense physical labor to support our family while dealing with the physical injuries from his previous work, now accompanied by gut pain that has felt life threatening at times.

Community is invaluable, especially during these early stages of motherhood, but both of our parents and families live far away. We would truly appreciate any of your support in this time of dis-ease and soon postpartum; where our family is lacking physical help, deep rest, nourishment, and the time for healing. After a banana or plantain tree puts out a rack, it will never do so again; unless it’s a Double Mahoi species that puts out two racks. We typically wait until one banana or plantain turns yellow before harvesting it, but this tree fell over on its own, and they often do. Even still, we cut the whole tree down after harvesting the rack in order to ensure that the tree no longer takes any energy away from the mother root so that it can use all of its energy to produce more trees and fruit. Additionally, the cut up banana stem and leaves make great mulch that slowly fertilizes the soil, retains water and keeps weeds from growing.

I love silk because it’s naturally antibacterial which is perfect for our dirty fingernail life. This is some footage before I dropped my phone in our pond 2 months ago. These geese are full grown now and we have 2 more pigs… I got a new phone so I’m back to being active on here!!! Stay tuned for updates. We have several new additions to the food forest this spring 🐣🐷🩵 Wild geese, domesticated geese and a pig. We’ve been cooking Keith’s local wild aged deer steaks, homemade sourdough sandwich bread, our fresh food forest duck eggs, homegrown plantains and bananas, and different citric fruits from local rewilded groves 🍊 by @leafoflifefarm
