It’s a common but nonetheless a vintage common. This Slowpoke from the iconic Team Rocket set is simply gorgeous. There is something to be said about the color palette used that is soothing to the eye.

This Shelmet illustration is quirky, playful, and even slightly chaotic. I love all the little environmental details, such as, the garden hose, the scattered objects, the weeds, and flowers. This Pokémon card is from White Flare.

This illustration of Doduo has that wonderfully strange and playful quality that makes Komiya’s illustrations so distinctive. Absolutely love the rough outlines, and the shapes and colors used to give this illustration a whimsical look to it. This Pokémon card is from vending series 1.

I love the story being told in this Stoutland illustration. After what looks like quite the struggle in giving her Stoutland a bath, the trainer finally gets a moment to sit back and relax. The soft colors, tropical setting, and little details scattered throughout make this such a lovely illustration. This Pokémon card is from incredible Cosmic Eclipse set.

✨🎀 Vending Series Collab 🎀✨

My fyp lately has been a showcase of artist, and it’s so fun to see how many cards there are by so many of them. We really gotta catch them all!

This series (there are 3) of cards were only available through vending machines in Japan during 1998-2000. Hence the name of the series! They have a glossy finish to them, that helps make them more unique to the others.

It’s exciting to find them in the wild nowadays 🤩

I absolutely adore this beautifully illustrated Pokemon card of Bloodmoon Ursaluna. The artwork shows a gentler side to Bloodmoon Ursaluna. There are Teddiursas wandering and playing while Combee fly above making for a really nice scene. There’s a Munchlax patiently waiting its turn for the golden honey. The earthy colors and textured, painterly style make the whole scene feel like a page from an ethereal fairy tale. This Pokémon card is from Twilight Masquerade.

Bellossom is shown dancing among dense clusters of flowers. The illustration is lush and gives a magical night time garden vibe to it. It is like Bellossom finds itself in some enchanted floral world that is filled with an abundance of flowers. Such a lovely illustration. This Pokemon card is from Ancient Origins.

This Munna artwork is so incredibly soft and dreamlike. Munna looks like a mystical being while she is floating above a sleeping city. There’s something very peaceful and slightly lonely about it. This Pokémon card is from Fusion Strike.

One of my favorite Sandshrew illustrations. Sandshrew looks almost contemplative, as if taking in the vast landscape before setting off. The warm earth tones and expressive sky give the artwork a sense of optimism and resilience. Such an incredible Shinji Kanda illustration. This Pokémon card is from Mega Evolution.

Whimsy is a mainstay in the illustrations I love, and this Patrat card is wonderfully whimsical. I absolutely adore the country pathway Patrat stands on. Just look at the the wildflowers and soft, rolling hills and mountains. Look at the sky, filled with stylized clouds and twinkling stars. The bold outlines, vibrant colors, and folk art-inspired style make the entire illustration feel like a page from a children’s storybook. This Pokémon card is from White Flare.
