Pinks help with The Blues.
Ive been laid up this week, and experimenting w cyanotypes to stay sane, so this seemed a natural response … plus a sun-related process seems fitting for a person who was warm and bright, larger than life and made people feel good.
but I’m still feeling blue.
But she’d prob want us to feel pink.
Cyanotype plus gouache.

I’m starting to pack up and say bye to my studio … it’s been 5 good years. These two ladies have sat on a shelf there looking down over me for awhile now…
Left is Frau Hedwig- my lesser version of a Lovis Corinth painting I like , and the right is my lesser version of a lovely, larger than life friend Lou. She died a few years ago but she’s still ‘around’. She had some good phrases in her 90-odd years such as… you gotta stop whinin’ and start shinin’ 🙂… (im still working on that)
Frau makes me imagine what Lovis might have felt painting his mother n law 😀
And Lou always makes me feel less alone. ❤️
I like to think they enjoy sitting there next to each other, and I’m happy knowing they’ll come with me wherever I end up next…it’s sappy I know 😀

#gravity, circa 2023. I don’t know if it’s because I had a birthday recently or what but my algorithm is giving me even more vids on how to get up off the ground than normal this week.
Which reminds me of this lil self portrait sketch I did a few years ago… 🙂
Not how the vids suggest by the way 🙂
