to nursing school,

being accepted to Emory Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, the #1 ranked nursing school in the nation, a year and a half ago was a dream come true. it has been a wild, long ride. i am full with feelings of excitement, relief and gratitude as this chapter of my life comes to an end. & you have taken me on NOTHING SHORT of an emotional roller coaster but i must admit that i have been beyond grateful for every moment of it. i have learned more than i could ever imagine, built lifelong relationships and connected with incredible people i may never have through you. having the chance to network, shadow and be taught by some of the brightest & most intelligent people you could ever meet has been a privilege.

there were countless nights where i would think to myself “am i smart enough? is this all worth it? should i give up?” .. but i didn’t. nursing school, you have taught me resilience, discipline and strength that i never knew i had inside of me. & i have poured my heart, soul, and every bit of effort i have into this journey .. & it is finally paying off!

i can now say that in just 10 days, i will officially be a first generation graduate with a Master’s of Nursing degree.

take note of the title - Leah Grant, M.N., RN, B.A., CMA, CNA
i have earned EVERY letter.

passed my NCLEX & i now have RN behind my name! it has been very hard but i can let my hair down, chill and look back and say I DID THAT SHI.

i have manifested this moment for years and it has now become my reality. i am beyond blessed & grateful for how far i have come. & none of this would be possible without my amazing support system.

and to top it all off .. i will be starting my nursing career in my dream specialty, the Emergency Department!
