Happy birthday to my favorite 80’s male model, and also the best dad and guy I know. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend the last 30 years with anyone else. Love you always! ❤️ by @leahmalloryfox

Best. Birthday. Surprise. Ever. Last Friday, Brad handed me a note that said:

“Pack for 7 days. Don’t stress. Don’t plan. Don’t try to figure anything out.”

If you know me… you know I immediately started stressing, planning, and trying to figure it all out. 😂

But what was waiting for me was better than anything I could have imagined. Brad secretly arranged for some of our dear friends from Missouri to surprise me for the weekend! 😭 Seeing their faces and getting to spend the weekend together filled my heart in the best way.

Then, just when I thought the surprises were over, he handed me another note telling me I was going to spend time with the people who loved me first—my parents. ❤️

I haven’t exactly been looking forward to turning 50, but I’ve decided to change my perspective and embrace every new year God gives me. None of us is promised tomorrow, so what a gift it is to spend time with the people I love most. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has called, texted, and sent birthday wishes. Every message has meant so much, and I feel incredibly blessed to have each of you in my life. ❤️

And to the best husband… thank you for knowing exactly what I secretly wanted, but even more importantly, what my heart needed. This birthday will be one I’ll never forget. I’m still counting my blessings. 👏🏼 by @leahmalloryfox

26 years ago today I was getting ready to say “I do” to the guy I had dated for four years, and was ready to spend forever with.

I thought we knew each other inside and out, but there are a few things that surprised me over the years.

I never knew what an incredible dad he would become. He’s the one reaching for the screaming, crying baby…while I’m looking to hand them back to their mama.

I never knew the solid hope and unwavering faith he would carry while battling continuous medical issues… honestly, mine wavered a few times.

I never knew that the guy I used to tease about not showing much emotion would become my calm, steady shelter—the person I run to again and again when life feels overwhelming.

I’d love to say marriage is a piece of cake, but anybody who has been married any length of time can tell you, it takes work. We’ve lost patience with each other, we’ve disagreed on big things and silly things. We’ve had moments that have felt heavier than either of us ever expected, but through the years we’ve learned that marriage is waking up every day and choosing to be on the same team. It’s about attacking the problem, not each other. It’s about holding on through the difficult seasons and finding your way back to the good ones.

I’m so grateful for the life we’ve built together—for the good seasons, but also for the hard ones. Those years have made us more compassionate, more understanding, and more aware that everyone is carrying burdens we can’t see.

You have loved me well, made me laugh when I needed it most, and stood beside me through it all.

I’d choose you a billion times over, babe. Thank you for being my safe place, my steady shelter when life feels chaotic, and the first person I want to run to with both the good and the hard stuff.

Happy Anniversary. I’m forever grateful for you. ❤️ by @leahmalloryfox
