to conversations about desire, then spectatorship, and just what makes a city sexy. diasporic fantasies, that leak-seep-oozing across shared screens, shared audiences. to the books referenced, references forgotten and promised to be sent later [remind me] and to theatre. o beloved theatre! but still more to antigone, and her sweet absent ismene: where are you? in the cinema, in the throat, in the longing of those twice removed, windburnt. and then, finally, to eat, to sleep; to sleep, to dream, to be satisfied only by curiosity, to be asking again of history, to be that taped-up backdrop when the floor starts to rumble. new york let's keep talking all night by @leakygardens

Parables for the Future Sun is a two-week, online program that features a selection of videos by Palestinian artists and filmmakers who have worked with Images Festival over the past ten years. With works by Alaa Abu Asad, Basma al-Sharif, Kamal Aljafari, Larissa Sansour, Muhammad Nour ElKhairy and a North American premier of Rehab Nazzal’s newest film, the program oscillates between reality and possibility, soaring across generations, throughout the diaspora and back home again. Images has had the privilege of presenting work by many Palestinian artists and curators over the course of our 37-year history. As a festival operating on stolen land, we will work to platform the voices of artists at a time when voices are being suppressed, censored, and erased. Please continue to share and support the work of Palestinian artists and filmmakers. The link is in my bio, share widely. 🎥 At the verge of worldlessness by #AlaaAbuAsad P is for Palestine by @_m.khairy Vibrations from Gaza by @rehabnazzal Feast of Inhabitants by @larissasansour Balconies by @kamalaljafariproductions Deep Sleep by @basmalsharif To the filmmakers in this program, thank you thank you for working with me over these past months and for trusting us to hold and share your work at this time, in this context ❤️ by @leakygardens

Over the winter I had the incredible privilege of co-curating the exhibition All Flourishing Is Mutual with the dearest Katie Lawson. Together, and with a glorious group of artists (Logan MacDonald, Odeimin Runners Club, Patricia Domínguez, sophia bartholomew, and Sylvia Matas), we introduced a glitch to the network of sprawling underground pedestrian tunnels that is the PATH in so-called Toronto. Prompted by the writing of Robin Wall Kimmerer (particularly the serviceberry essay found in @emergencemag), the exhibition proposed alternative values in place of the dominance of capitalism, prioritizing exchanges based on gratitude, reciprocity, and relationship with each other and the non-human world. Super big giant thank yous to @imagesfestival #LoganMacDonald @odeiminrunnersclub @bartholomew.sophia @patrixdominguez @sylvia_matas_ @sprngchckn @leaky_gardens @collisiongallery @vero.suna A special thanks goes to @patrixdominguez who shared her work from afar, and @vero.suna who helped the work come together!
