Phil “The Thrill” Hills of Rock Creek Ride.We had a good group out there today. It was hot (94 degrees) but with the humidity around 50% it felt pretty good in the park. We got a new “King of the Hill” this week with Ian taking the number one spot and Jason at number two and Griffin rolling in at number three. Great roll out there today. by @leander_pj

GII/VeloCity North Meets South Crofton Edition 2026I didn’t have my Aethos today cause it’s in the shop so I had to roll on my old Roubaix. It was definitely different cause I haven’t been on this bike for over a year, so some different muscles were in effect and I believe it helped me in cramping with 2miles left. Had to stop and stretch but made it back. Humidity again played a roll but all in all I liked the 55 mile route and hanging out afterwards with everyone. by @leander_pj

Phil “The Thrill” Hills of Rock Creek RideThey’re setting up for the Tennis tournament later this month at Carter Barron so we had to start from the other side of the parking lot. The weather today wasn’t as hot but the humidity was definitely high. I didn’t really feel it until we started riding. We all were drenched when we got back. Jason took the “King of the Hill” number one spot again this week with Griffin holding it down at number two and Franklin coming in at number three. Great Roll! by @leander_pj

PNP 4th of July Ride to the Capital. Knocked out a quick 30 mile ride before the real heat kicks in. Nice early roll (6:30am with the PNP Group. Got my ride on and out of the way. Now I can eat a good breakfast, relax and chill until this evening festivities. by @leander_pj

When the summer season comes around and I’m in the grocery store like I just was and they start selling cherries it always takes me right back to Rittenhouse St. where we had a cherry tree in our back yard. Back in those days a lot of houses had fruit trees in their yards. In our block which was the 14 hundred St. block and across the alley was Sheridan St. we had two apple trees, pear tree, cherry tree, two berry trees, grape vines and I think we had a plumb tree all in one block. I’m sure I left out a few. They don’t build houses anymore and put fruit trees in the yards. We used to eat right from the trees and every year my father would climb the tree and pick all the cherries that he could reach off of the tree and put them in a big pouch and bring them down and give them to my mother who would then rinse them off and package them in ziplock bags and give them to all the neighbors in the block. Those were the good ole days. Just me reminiscing a little bit on a hot day. by @leander_pj

What do I do when it’s 100 degrees outside and high humidity and too hot to ride. I take it inside to Lifetime Fitness. I was joined at the gym with my friend Ruby and we did the spin class with Coach Lisa then we did laps in the pool then the cold plunge (she did that, not me) then the jacuzzi. That’s the way I roll on a very hot day. Good cool Workout! by @leander_pj

Phil “The Thrill” Hills of Rock Creek RideWe got a new “King of the Hill” this week. Jason hit those hills like he was on flats and he dethroned Griffin this week off of the number one spot and Thomas took number two and Griffin came in third. It was a good and competitive ride this evening and glad we could get it in before the real heat gets here tomorrow. Battle of the Barbecue Rainy RideToday’s ride was definitely an adventure with Tina Frazier and Leslie Jones. It wasn’t raining when we left Jones point but that quickly changed. I tell you these two women are straight up troopers. They handled the rain with no problem and no complaints and definitely determined to do this and we did. We made it happen and the BBQ was fun. No rain on the way back until we got back at Jones Point. We were wet but we had fun by @leander_pj
