Feeling a fall reset? 🍂

I’m not the best at advertising my fitness offerings and I’ve had a few questions pop up from those looking to get moving more.

All classes are offered @tnt_training_ in North Waterloo, a spacious and clean gym located just off of Northfield. Parking, showers, change rooms are all available. It is a privately owned space that has been in operation for 10 years. TNT offers the best vibes of any gym I’ve worked at in my 12 years in the industry. 🧨

Message me with any questions. 🙋🏼‍♀️

As real as it gets. A messy braid, clothes I’ve worn since this morning, dogs toys on the floor, finishing sets with a baby in my arms, taking more rest, and very little personal space 👶🏼🐶

Those details aside, for the last six weeks I’ve been focusing on breathing to engage my pelvic floor, upper body to help balance out many hours of nursing, and lots of mobility of course.

Is it perfect? Never, it’s often shorter and modified. We make it work!

Have there been stretches of days where a workout doesn’t get done? Absolutely, but we begin again.

Any movement feels like a win. With them, it feels like the most fun and flexible it’s ever been for me. 🫶🏼 by @leanne.wiese

My favourite chapter of ours yet.

Thank you to @heathtowns for capturing us & making sure Tilley didn’t completely steal the show by @leanne.wiese

Annnnd I’m comfortably in the third trimester 🤝🏼

Reminders to self with about two months to go…

Rest more. There will be time in the future to push myself again, it’s maintenance time in terms of strength. Lighter weights, body weight, and shorter reps is still better than no reps.

Movement that feels good will benefit BOTH of us right now. Even if it’s mobility, breath work, walking, or laundry movement breaks at home with my sweet sidekick.

Appointments like pelvic physiotherapy, prenatal massage, psychotherapy, chiropractic care, and the midwife aren’t for me but for ALL of us.

Take time to enjoy this phase! I know it’s not everyone’s experience, but so far I feel really good and am so grateful for that. 🫶🏼

EXPECTING MAMAS 👉🏼 if you need help staying moving while you prepare for your own babe to arrive, message me about my Mommy & Me classes. You are welcome to join us even before baby is here! 👶🏼 by @leanne.wiese

Unpopular opinion: workouts during 3rd trimester pregnancy have felt better than the 1st and 2nd🤰🏼

Everyone(body) is DIFFERENT! But continuing to move, as much as possible, in every trimester has been my priority.

Even if it means ✨ slowing down ✨incorporating more rest ✨lifting lighter✨shifting my expectations ✨ changing my focus to prioritize:

Consistency over intensity, especially using self talk to rest more.

Strength to hold a baby, carry a car seat and bags.

Mobility for delivery prep, especially in the hips.

Posture for pain relief, especially in the lower back.

Breathing prompts to protect the pelvic floor.

Scroll to the end to see a glimpse of some strong mamas working hard and having fun in one of my MOMMY & ME classes! 👶🏼 by @leanne.wiese

Move of the Day: Tempo Focused Turkish Get Up

Strength is being able to stabilize each phase, not speed through a move with momentum- anyone can do that. Slow it down and pause for 2 seconds each time you move to the next position. This can be challenging for some without any weight- nailing the basics first. Oh and, 👀 on the bell at all times. 👊🏼

Move of the Day: Metronome Lunge ❤️‍🔥

Move quickly for a burn in a lower body finisher or add it in between sets and move slower for knee, ankle and hip health. Progress by adding a weighted vest or holding dumbbells. 💥 by @leanne.wiese
