A little history about these black and white drawings.

I have been an artist all my life. In my twenties I graduated in drawing. However, since then I was mainly active as a painter. During a vacation, near the sea, I rediscovered drawing again. The black and white drawings with the micronpen I started to share in a second account: Leanne_drawings in July 2021. I enjoyed drawing so much, that I stoppend painting the big canvasses. In the meanwhile my family and I planned to move further away to another city. I felt that the painting chapter was a sort of closed and that was oké. In this time I made a lot of black and white drawings and zendoodles. But ofcourse I missed the colors, so I added watercolor before and after drawing.
The theme Marine life, Ocean life, was a natural continuation after painting seascapes, my last subject. So my watercolor drawings are my happy artworks with a ton of possibilities. And the base were the black and white drawings. I still make them with a lot of joy and post them between my colorful artwork as a reminder where it all began.
Thanks to Instagram, my little works of art don't just stay in the studio, but are visible to everyone. Enjoy my artworks. ❤️

✨️At the beginning of the new year I would like to show you some of my work first, for those who have been following me for a while it may already be clear and a refresher. To my new followers I would like to welcome you with this overview. The different works are divided into categories based on my Underwater World & Marine life theme. Executed in watercolor paint and zentangle-inspired drawing techniques. To keep things organized, I have divided the watercolor drawings into different categories as they have developed over the years.

● Sea Corals
● Water Corals
● Coral Reef
● Sea Animals
● Ocean Elements
● Squares
● Circles
● Sea Abstracts

It seems like a lot of categories, but they all have connections: the coral pen drawing and the zentangle patterns.

And to make it even more fun, I'll occasionally post black and white drawings. As a weekend drawing or between different phases - colors in my work. I started with the black and white drawings in a little sketchbook many years ago. That's actually how Leanne_drawings started❣️

All of this can also be found on my website/webshop, link in bio, so don't forget to take a look there too.😉

And so they appear, Betta fish 🐟, in my fantasy underwater world 🪸

Thanks to AI I could let them swim in the ocean, and so it didn't ruined my watercolor artwork.

What do you see sometimes popping up when you are creating? Just curious ☺️ taken in The Netherlands by @leanne_drawings

But make it slow, step by step, relax and let the materials work for you and free you mind.
