Stop waiting to be invited to the room. Build the room.

Dean from @resultsmediaofficial and I are constantly getting questions from business owners outside of our usual niches, so we decided to stop answering them one-by-one and actually create a space for it!

Yesterday, we hosted our first in-person marketing workshop for 80+ business owners in Sydney (Dean flew up from Melbourne)

it was such a good reminder that you don’t need to wait for someone to give you a speaking opportunity, invite you onto a panel or decide you’re “ready” to teach or share

If there’s a conversation you want to be part of, create the workshop

I taught 80 business owners marketing today in Mosman in Sydney, and one comment made me question the whole thing 🫣

It was my first in-person marketing workshop, run alongside Dean from Results Media, and honestly, it was going SO well.

People were engaged, asking questions, taking notes and telling us how much value they were getting!

Then, halfway through, someone made a comment that threw us off, suggesting they weren’t getting enough value, even though others were telling us they were almost overwhelmed with information.

And for a second, I panickedddddd (like my heart started racing hahah)

We were delivering SIX HOURS of marketing training on Facebook Ads, Google Ads, social media and so I started wondering, “Are we actually giving enough?”

So we spoke to some other people in the room.

Their response was basically, “Really? We’re getting SO much out of this.”

It was a good reminder that one piece of feedback can feel REALLY loud, even when the overwhelming experience in the room is completely different.

And they ended up staying for the entire workshop anyway.

You can’t let one opinion drown out the room.
