how easy is it to sit on the sidelines and wait? But my dear sister you need to participate and stop being a bystander in your own life by @learnwithhiba

2016 me had no idea what the next 10 years would hold. She had dreams, doubts, a million questions and so many things she wanted for herself, but I don’t think she could have imagined the life she’d be living a decade later.

She wouldn’t believe that we moved to Manchester all alone, travelled solo, went for opportunities we once thought were out of reach, got multiple promotions, ran a half marathon (horribly) and started a coaching business helping other women believe in themselves too.

She wouldn’t believe how much we’ve grown, how many times we’ve had to start again, or how many versions of ourselves we’ve had to let go of to get here.

And she definitely wouldn’t believe some of the things we used to overthink for MONTHS are now things we just do.

But perhaps the biggest change isn’t WHAT you achieve but who you become along the way!

ALHAMDULILAH as I'm turning 35 today, and if there’s one thing the last decade has taught me, it’s that your life can look so different from what you once imagined

So here’s to the girl I was in 2016, the woman I am today, and all the versions of me I’ve yet to meet

Are you waiting for permission to start? by @learnwithhiba

This sound has cracked me up 😂😂 by @learnwithhiba

Sometimes the life you want is on the other side of doing something differently. Your brain has pathways it knows really well.

The familiar response, excuse, decision and your habits of playing it safe.

And every time you repeat it, you make that pathway easier to travel. So what happens when you pause and choose differently?

You start creating a new pathway.

You apply for the job.
You finally start the thing.
You say what you actually want.
You stop asking everyone for permission.
You take the opportunity that scares you a little.

At first, the new road can feel awkward.

That doesn't mean it's wrong. It means it's new.

So today, ask yourself:

What would I do differently if I stopped automatically choosing the familiar? by @learnwithhiba
