♡ happy august and i can’t believe i start grad school this month!!! :D this page grew a lil over the past couple months so lemmme reintroduce myself and say a couple facts!

♡ my name is lex (she/her/siya) and i am 2nd gen filipino american!!
♡ i am the FIRST in my family who will be pursuing a masters, and move far away from home
♡ i enjoy journaling/scrapbooking and using it as a way to reflect about life
♡ i am the youngest of 3 sisters, busooo!
♡ my sociology class as a first year in undergrad is the one that changed my mind to switch majors
♡ i love slow days and not being on the go go go go. life is already so fast, so i love living in the moment
♡ growing up, i felt i was always the mediator between my family — especially my two older sisters LOLOLOL. which i think prepared me for this field hahahah
♡ i enjoy the outdoors and just existing outside (that’s why i picked sd hahah)
♡ ive been a jonas brothers fan since i was 8, and attended over 7+ concerts w them kekekekeke
♡ my faith is what keeps me grounded, and i always turn to it when i feel lost
♡ every now and there i have to remind myself that i am on my OWN path, and not compare my life to others. comparison is the thief of joy and why am i comparing my chapter 5 when others on chapter 10 keke

as of today, i am alexis, a$w!!!! <3

i applied for my associate number on 6/20 and received this email today 7/22! honestly was SO terrified during the waiting process bcos what if i did something wrong on the application. i spent so much money on this app and did NAWT want it to go to waste!!!

but YAYYY!! a step closer on becoming alexis, lc$w kekeke <3 for those still waiting for your number, hang tight!!!!! 🫂

hello and happy summer (-:

in honor of the season to register as a associate clinical social worker (asw), i wanted to share my financial breakdown of applying for my number! i was NOT ready to pay so much but gotta do what i gotta do 😭

becoming a social worker/clinician is such a fulfilling and privileged position to be in. i get to support people in their most vulnerable times, practice my clinical skills, and be an excited adult for my clients🫂🌱

HOWEVERRRR, it comes with a HEFTY price 😭 grad school, unpaid internships/practicums, cost of living, potential cost of supervision, paying for trainings, etc etc etc!!!

applying for my asw number is only the START of my licensure journey! i still have so much to learn and cant wait to embrace it all <3 also holding my breath bcos i truly HOPE i did my application correctly and no need to resubmit hahahah

what my life has been looking like post grad! (-: I’m currently back at my parents house and slowly getting used to living back here since I will be living here full time soon kekeke.

a lot of family activities, solo hikes/runs, also family/friend runs AHAHAH (shoutout to them for agreeing to a run), prepping for interviews, hanging out w friends, going to coffee shops, and reading/listening to audiobooks!

going back to sd soon and I cannot wait!!!! hahahah. I love being home and being w my people. but there’s just something about living out of your parents house, having your independence of a lease, living in a diff city, eating your own food, overall having your OWN identity, etc etc. i WILL cry once i officially move back home HAHAHAHAHAHAH

this run has been on my mf bucket list and glad I finally did her!!! ran the 7 bridge trail in sd and HAHAHAH. the amount of rerouting I had to do bcos I took the wrong turn or missed the turn, the timing of the mf cross walks HAHAH had to wait until it was my turn to cross the street, and some of the mf HILLS.

overall an easy walk / hike to do in you’re free time! sd is so walkable like I went to 3 diff cities on foot in 1.5 hours kekeke. this run also inspired me to run in more fun places bcos I get inspired to keep going!!!

nts: study the route more so i am AWFF my phone and i KNOW where im going 🤣

♡ happy may!! there’s a lot of things to update about but lemme start by sharing theee most important…

♡ i GRADUATED with my Master’s in Social Work, on the direct practice track!!! along w my pupil personnel services credential (ppsc) so i can work in schools! this has been a dream of mine since 2020 and i cant believe i finally accomplished it 🥹

♡ i plan on moving back home w my parents to save up and settle into this new chapter in my life! this means, i am moving out of sd at the end of july! <//3

♡ going to grad school at sdsu was one of the best decisions i have ever made. not bcos the program is perfect (lol), but i learned so much about myself in the last 2 years. i created my own sense of community in sd and continued to appreciate my solitude.

♡ financially, sdsu was prolly the worst HAHAHAAH. i was ready to settle to attend sac state (nun wrong, i was just used to campus bcos of undergrad), but I would’ve had the thought of “WHAT IF i went to sdsu?” life is so mf short to live in regret!!!! live in the neOW!!

♡ anywho I’m in da market for any behavioral health / mental health positions in solano, contra costa, napa, or sacramento county… LMK if yall have anything (-;

♡ for now, i am embracing post grad life and doing all my hobbies! playing tourist in sd before i leave and trying to soak in all my slow mornings before i work work work!!

i can’t believe i lived out something that literally used to be a prayer/dream!!!!!! so so so proud of myself and so grateful for the journey this has been 🥹🤍 still trying to be present and soak everything up, but ugh, i cant believe i am finally done. 2020 me would be so proud of 2026 me <3

♡ officially 4/4 semesters done w my master of social work program at sdsu 🥹 no more school foreva!! like what do you mean we are walking the stage this upcoming thursday!?! this semester went by TEW quick!!!

♡ so many “lasts” and i hate it!!!! last class, last internship day, last time eating lunch at east commons, last day of school, last session, last presentation, last exam, last SEL, last last last!!!

♡ this semester was so fun, intentional, challenging, and full of memories. so SO grateful to have cross paths w every single mf person I met and made friendships w. so grateful to have supportive supervisors to expand my skill set as a social worker. so grateful to have the circle i have in the program. so grateful to have push myself to be in dis mf position!! so grateful to have a partner who supported me during this whole program. so grateful to be a therapy intern and school social worker for my clients!!! <3 so grateful for the yummer food i ate. so grateful to live my ancestors wildest dream of pursuing my own dreams of higher ed.

♡ today was my last day at my secondary school site! i had to privilege to be a school social worker for tk students. working with this population is something totally OUT of my comfort zone, but so so SO grateful to have been placed here ♡

♡ was challenged to create and present social-emotional lessons on emotional regulation, leadership, love languages, a bug and a wish, coping skills, plans a b c, and MORE! co-presented with my supervisor at coffee with directors to caregivers about parenting styles, ACEs, regulation techniques, and attendance. facilitated leadership groups, attendance incentives, attended crises, and supervised students during lunch and playground time. coordinated special projects such as their annual toy drive and month of the military child! ♡

♡ going to miss being a tk school social worker. going to miss being so involved staff/students, getting over 50 side hugs a day, and challenging the students to become more independent! it was an honor to plant seeds into the students, and hoping they continue to positively grow 🍋🌱

♡ I just realized that I never posted a full Social Emotional Lesson on this account

♡ So, in honor of Earth Day, here is my SEL on celebrating Earth Day! Earth is everyday if you CARE for the environment and all living things! <3 My population/audience are TK/Preschool students, so it is very simple and made for them to easily follow along.

♡ Slide1: Title Page
♡ Slide 2: Visual reminders of what I expect of them throughout the SEL! Sitting criss-cross applesauce, raising your hand if you have something to share or want to participate in a discussion, and catching a bubble!
♡ Slide 3: Mindfulness! Love supporting students to be present in the here and now. Preparing their minds to absorb new information and have a discussion with the group!
♡ Slide 4: What is Earth Day? — Open discussion with the students!
♡ Slide 5: What are some activities we can do to celebrate Earth Day? — Open discussion with students!
♡ Slide 6: Introduction of the interactive activity / game! Trying to apply what they learn and have them think about their answers. Activity inspo from @/michaelacounselingcorner on TikTok!
♡ Slide 7-13: Interactive Activity / Game + open discussion on why they picked their answer.
♡ Slide 14: Earth Day Song with Elmo and Friends! Love ending the lesson with a song to wrap it all up!
♡ Slide 15: Showing pictures of me to remind the class that I am also a student just like them! Reminding them that I will graduate soon and no longer be at their school anymore 🥹
♡ Slide 16: Going BACK to the lesson and ending circle time to start tables! At their tables, they are able to color in the worksheet and take it home. Love providing a tangible thing for students to take back and show to their caregivers about what they learned.

hay everyone, what’s going AWN 😋 here are some updates kekeke

i passed my comps exam (thank YEWWW), was a panelist for sdsu’s usw club, been hanging out and surrounding myself w the bestest people, took grad pics, and now only 23 more days till we WALK the mf stage (-:

this program is going by so freakin fast and I can’t believe we are weeks away from the finish line. getting sad bcos that means my time in sd will be coming to an end (July 2026), but I’ll save that for another post HAHAHAHA.

i also have a BAD case of mf senioritis and I zont like it bcos I got papers to write, a group presentation to do, a reflection to finish, and other things that will GIVE me the title of an msw student BEHAUHAHA.
