My friend @corynnec (left) had her book launch this week for Root Therapy: How to Love Your Hair (and Find Yourself), which she co-wrote with celebrity stylist @felicialeatherwood.
Blending memoir, practical guidance, and empowering exercises, Root Therapy is more than a book about hair. It’s an invitation to explore identity, self-love, confidence, and the stories we carry with us.

“Photography gave me purpose.”

I recently joined the board of City Limits and at this week’s @citylimitsnews Salon, legendary photographer @jamelshabazz shared how photography transformed his life and became a tool for documenting the beauty, dignity, and humanity of Black and Brown communities. Through his lens, he has challenged stereotypes and captured moments of joy, resilience, and connection that might otherwise have gone unseen.

The New York Women’s Foundation held its annual breakfast gala this week and as usual it was phenomenal. They practice “radical generosity” and, well, that’s what our city, county, world needs more of. For 39 years this organization has helped turn around countless lives that had been shattered. The @nywomensfdn helps the vulnerable put their lives together, and then they help polish them! It’s a wonderful thing to witness. Behold: what you see in the photo above is a beautiful thing.

Two weeks ago, I was genuinely worried that someone—especially a child, an elder, or even me!—might trip on the potholes up the block and be put in danger by oncoming traffic. So I contacted City Hall. I discovered a new online pothole reporting form and I went to town submitting forms.

And then, a small miracle.

Walking back from the subway today, I saw that the potholes had been filled.

Am I happy? You bet!

A big thank you to @nycmayorsoffice and his team for getting it done.

If you need to report a NYC pothole, go to: nyc.gov/potholeform and fill out the form. Someone is actually reading them!
