He thought the rejection meant he missed his opportunity.

It actually redirected him.

Trey had moved 3 times in 4 years, was finally settling into life, had a relationship he wanted to protect, and knew another move could change everything.

Then App State turned him down.

Same day?

A new opportunity at UNC Charlotte came up.

He applied and got the job.

Sometimes the door closing is what forces you toward the one that actually fits.

Sometimes your life changes because somebody finally gives you access. 🎥

Karlil Wilson went from a small private school in Columbus with limited resources to a much larger public school in Pickerington, Ohio.

That move introduced him to something he had never had before:

TV and media classes.

And suddenly, broadcasting wasn’t just something people did on television.

It was something he could actually do.

That exposure eventually helped shape his path into storytelling, media, and building The Same Convo with his friends.

The talent may have already been there.

The opportunity just gave it somewhere to go.

👇 What class, teacher, person, or opportunity changed your direction?

“Who’s your favorite athletic trainer?”

And somehow gets himself selected 😂

👇 Was Jansen keeping it professional or avoiding the smoke?

Nobody asked him to be this honest. 😭⚽

We were walking through Lexington Sporting Club when a random fan yelled over.

So naturally…

“You want an interview?”

His review:

LSC? Looking solid.
Refs? Need to step it up.
Louisville City goalkeeper Ryan Troutman?

“I don’t think he’s that good.” 😂

Which got awkward considering our host actually knows Ryan.

👇 Was that a fair take or did Ryan just catch a completely unnecessary stray?

Coach Oldroyd's first match as a pro soccer coach — and it's against two of his own former players. 🥅 He breaks down the wild full-circle moment of coaching against guys he once coached in college, plus a bonus go-to WWE finishing move you didn't see coming.

“How many soccer teams do we need?”
And apparently the answer is MORE. 😂⚽

JK talks about the growth of soccer in Lexington, his move from Georgetown College to Centre College, and the atmosphere around Lexington Sporting Club.

At this point, we might as well start training too. 😭

👇 Is Lexington becoming a real soccer city, or are we getting ahead of ourselves?
