I usually bake an apple cake in a round shape, or as a a pie, or as a sheet… for the first time I spontaneously baked it in a Le Creuset non stick carbon steel rectangular baking tin and I have to say - It turned out great!

Absolutely fluffy with a tiny hint of cinnamon, I prefer brown sugar when I bake the cakes, it is not so sweet like the white one. Rather put more apples instead of sugar, the blend of sweetness and sourness has its natural way.

Perfect last-minute cake idea for paying a visit or receiving one on a short notice😊

Can serve either warm or cold with some wipped cream on top, yummy

Wednesday it’s potato day again!

Season the wedges, give a good mix and onto the plancha, that’s it! Super quick fix for a hump day, tasty and gives energy.

Served in a square Le Creuset plate (I think in mauve pink but not 100% sure about this unique colour any more).

Light up a tealight or a tiny candle in the Le Creuset cerise tealight holder, out of something so ordinary, let’s have a romantic candlelight dinner, even when you are just alone at home, life is beautiful! 😊

A simple family meal for a nice family time.🍲

Stir-fried chicken with red and yellow carrots, peas, corn kernels and cauliflowers. Yummy!

Shape the rice as a ring and fill the dish in, with the decorative pumpkin seeds it looks like an autumn wreath to me 😀

This @lecreuset glass lid is an old model with a curved handle, I love it! The new ones feature a central knob which has the advantage that we can replace whichever knob we want. 🤭

In my eyes this is one of the nicest baking dishes from Le Creuset, the two handles are in a scallop shell shape. I’ve shown a similar vintage cast iron baking dish in oval before but it was not so slim and pointy like this one.

Lay some cabbage at the bottom, put some shallots (or onions) and diced meat of your choice with some sun-dried tomatoes, some salt if the tomatoes are not over-salted.

Wrap it up with some olive oil on top. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 190 degrees, remove the cabbage on top and give it a short bake with the grill function for another 10 minutes.

Serve with rice, noodles or potatoes.

So, here it is - the long-awaited first pumpkin soup for this year. Cooked in the Le Creuset volcanic pumpkin-shaped cast iron braiser, served in a Le Creuset Forêt stoneware pumpkin soup bowl, paired with a Le Creuset volcanic dinner plate.

I like to change how I cook the pumpkin soup each year spontaneously, this time I saw something in the supermarket and came up with a new idea and it turned out absolutely delicious! In Part 2 I will show you all the ingredients in detail and how I cooked step by step.

Here are what my kids said about the soup.

“Meine Mama kocht die leckerste Kürbissuppe der Welt“ (My Mom cooks the most delicious pumpkin soup in the world)

“Mama, deine Kürbissuppe mit deinem Brot, 👍👍👍 ich gebe dir 10 Sterne, nein 20.“ (Mom, your pumpkin soup and your bread, 👍👍👍, I give you 10 stars, no 20)

“Mama das ist ja delikat‚ exzellent!“ (Mom das is delicate, excellent)

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I can’t help smiling, my heart melts, my kids loving my food is the biggest happiness I get out of the kitchen.

So here is my step by step cooking of the pumpkin soup. Reveal of the secret ingredient: the gigantic chestnuts! 🌰 Who has guessed that? 😛 I saw them in the supermarket and thought, ‘Wow, I’m going to put some in the soup.’ Sometimes I put a couple of potatoes in, so why not chestnuts? And the outcome? — 👌👌👌

I think the video says more than a recipe, if it’s too fast you can pause at any time and see which ingredient I added in. In the first picture you see exactly everything that I used lying on the chopping board.

If you are still not sure, here is my sequence after heating up some butter/olive oil: ginger - shallot - garlic - apple - carrots - chestnuts - pumpkin (yes Hokkaido just keep the skin)

The sweetness from the apple and carrots as well as the starch from the chestnuts, the spices from the ginger, shallots and garlic… it gives you a 360-degree taste in the mouth. 🤤

If I could make a wish, it would be an even bigger pumpkin from Le Creuset. So that we can each get a second bowl. 😁

To serve, as shown in Part 1, add some freshly chopped parsley, pumpkin seeds and some cream directly into the soup and…dip in the home made sourdough bread >>>

First steam and roast that’s the key.

Put a layer of garlic and ginger slices at the bottom and a blanket of parsley, lay the salmon on top, season, with a tiny bit of soy sauce for the colour.

Bake it in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees with the lid closed (on the top rack) , and roast for about 7-10minutes with the lid open until it gets a beautiful golden colour.

It is the first time that I baked the parsley interestingly, I usually use it more as a decorative herb in a soup or on top of the food, but raw, because if I cook it it turns bitter, it is the first time that I put it under the food, and it turned out to be like chips so crispy and tasty. It’s really worth a try.

This gorgeous fish baker from Le Creuset is in the colour of cerise, but there are lots of joyful colours available, in comparison with the Le Creuset vintage baker, the lid is definitely a win. The most funny thing is when I first bought it, I had this fixed idea that I could only make a whole fish in it. How could I ?! I guess it was because the fish looked so vivid on the lid and I forgot the idea to make any other dishes in it. 😅

Ready for a new week? Parents out there thinking about how to pack the lunch boxes for your kids again?

I don’t cut the dinosaurs, butterflies flowers whatsoever… I do it in a practical way to give my kids my home baked sourdough bread for the base of the day. We call it a lunch box but the boxes are for breakfast at school here because all my kids have lunch at home and I cook every day.

I pack the bread with salami / ham, but normally salami because they stay good for a longer time, cheese will not be enjoyable after some hours in the schoolbag. Let’s be honest the fancy ideas online are for the visual enjoyment, inspiration for a fresh picnic right after packing, but not really on a daily basis for school.

Next to the main supply of bread, I pack some fruits or vegetables in a separate box to avoid the bread getting moist or an unpleasant taste. Besides those there will be some snacks (tiny pretzels or nuts etc).

That’s all! Being practical but full of love. We don’t have a lunch box packing contest!

Of course, a confession here: I do not give my kids my favourite Le Creuset lunchbox on the go! It is mine! 🤭It is in my bag and I pack snacks for the road including sweets.

My kids have their own lunch boxes packed this way for every school day, just not from Le Creuset. 🤪

This is just what my page is about - real-life cooking, baking, preps and showcasing the usage of my favourite brand - Le Creuset in my kitchen.

Seasonal change… kids start to get sick, runny nose, cough, this is how I cook an herbal tea to make them feel better with Mom’s love, or something I generally do during the time. (Don’t worry this is only a showcase, in fact I made a huge pot and the entire family had enough 😛)

Rinse and dry the herbs (thyme, sage, mint, rosemary), give it a boil, let it simmer, and add in a piece of eucalyptus leaf and some lavender seeds (as you can see very limited amount of eucalyptus and no boiling, just a short soak, eucalyptus has to be used with caution)

I let the tea run through a Le Creuset coffee filter directly into the mug, there are three small holes in it and the herbs did not fall apart, so no finer filter was needed.

Drink when it’s still hot, add some local honey (It is important, always choose honey from your own region) and give a good stir. This is a nectar Le Creuset honey jar.

It’s not only tasty but also really helpful. If you try it just for the taste and a prevention, enjoy 🫶 and if you try it because you are under the weather, get well ❤️‍🩹

I found this mixture of nuts and berries on the shelf giving such pleasant flavours so I just put it into my whole grain spelt sourdough and it does make it 🤤🤤🤤

Almonds
Peanuts
Pumpkin seeds
Cranberries
Goji berries

If you have any allergy just choose the nuts and berries or dried fruit with caution and make your own suitable mixture.

1. Lay an inlay tray in the air fryer so we are not losing the drippings, put some vegetables of your choice in so they can be a side dish and have all the aroma from the chicken (Here I have some carrots and potatoes)

2. Stuff the chicken with a handful of spring onions, some shallots or onions, garlic, herbs (I have rosemary and thyme here) and an apple.

3. Oil the chicken and give it a small herbal salt “bath”. Push it into the air fryer.

4. Select the poultry programme if it’s applicable, if not I set it between 190 and 200 degrees, roast for 25 minutes and check, turn the chicken and give it a roast for another 15-20 minutes. Of course, if the chicken is smaller and turns light brown faster just reduce the time or temperature accordingly.

5. Carve the chicken, decorate the vegetables and herbs on the plate and place the part from the chicken that you like - breast or leg, it’s done 🥰

Perfect choice for a busy day or when you don’t want to make a big mess in the kitchen.

As you can see there are some limes in the azure Le Creuset pie dish in the background, if you like you can definitely add a few drops of lime or lemon juice on the crispy skin but it’s not necessary, I didn’t apply any.

We made some pull-pork in the oven, and the dripping was the base for my gravy, which is fully flavoured already (salt and pepper and herbs)

Heat up some butter, whisk with a handful of flour, add in the drippings (or a broth that is available in your household), here you go, a delicious gravy is done, pour it back to the meat and enjoy!

Served with a cerise Le Creuset saucier. 🍷 Cheers
