i’m really happy to announce that i’ll be part of the slow tech summit in paris with @backmarket !!

its gonna be a day dedicated to slowing down our relationship with technology: reuse, repair, circularity and new ways of looking at the objects already around us.

on october 15, from 12:45 to 1:15 pm, i’ll host a hands-on workshop around obsolete and repurposed tech. we’ll look at some of the objects behind my recent projects, talk about them, and create visuals together using my magic tv :)

hi internet! this is a different method u can use to make your handycam tapeless! In this way you can save your footage directly on sd, which is really useful if you have a lot of material! Also this is a way cheaper method compared to the one I showed u in the other video sooooooo…. you are welcome ahahah

I hope the video is clear but drop any question in the comment :)

i love the story behind this project, I got this analog color corrector while I was travelling around Italy sleeping on the back of my dad’s pick up when I casually passed by a thrift shop in the middle of nowhere and in a corner here it is, a Sony XV-C900 for 25€!

I took it with me for the rest of the trip and months later, back home in Milan, I saw a @technopooch video and decided to try this magic tv thing. I grabbed my dad old handycam, a ctr tv I got for free and boom! The video blew overnight, got me featured on the @hypebeast page and kinda of turned my life around, connecting me with a whole new world!

Now I’m starting to take this content creation thing more seriously since u all are giving me mad support so, thanks! Let’s see where it brings me, because I love good stories :)

today I want to share with u a project that truly got my attention lately, it’s a research that analyzes a particular kind of technique used in Italy to print the world famous Mikey Mouse comics, the main idea was to save money printing only one side in colored and the other black and white.

the most interesting part to me it’s how a practical and economical choice can became iconic and give a unique style to the final product, I also have been a huge reader of Mickey Mouse as a kid don’t has a special place in my heart

a huge thank to @ianeseemma @francescacomacchio @glorioschi @massimilianopace @affect.ed who brought to the light this really interesting aspect of Italian typography hisyory <3

this is an experiment I made some months ago, this scans have been sitting in my computer for a while now and I was planning to make a video about street scan, finding textures around the city, but now I feel like using it for portraits it’s a way more interesting use of this ahahaha

the story starts as usual at a flea market were I have found this portable scanner, i didn’t even know i needed one but for 5 bucks i had to get it. back home i started testing it scanning stuff around the house planning to go for an outdoor session, but than the idea, why i shouldn’t try to scan myself? so i started passing the scanner all over my body (and on my friend @gianmarcobiancardi who is the one with the cool tattoos) and once i imported the files on my laptop i got shocked by the amount of details and the overall vibe of the shots! So we can say this is an happy accident and i hope it inspires someone else to try use stuff not in the way it was intended to, trust me cool stuff will happen <3

as a matter of fact I think my mum is the only one who really get it but I didn’t want to shame my friends who still don’t really get wtf I’m doing with my life

(actually that’s not true i made this presentation for myself)

see u the 15 of October at the slow tech summit by @backmarket in Paris, if u wanna join the workshop register at the link in their bio <3

I’m working on my first solo live set and I wanted to share with u the process I’m using to convert my tracks into tapes in order to have a sound scape to play with :)

in this video in particular i recorded three single tracks on loop on three different tape tracks, let me know if u have any suggestions or improvements to the process, one of the hardest things it’s to get the right timing at the start so that all the tracks at the end are on sync

the video may not be clear but i hope it can get some inspiration on playing with some old machines again, I just love all the knobs and switches and the feeling of actually touching the gear instead of a computer <3

I let me know what u think, this is just a glimpse of the live set is going to be, I’ll share with u more in the future ;)

bravissimi ragazzi is a project we started 3 years ago, basically we used to throw parties at my place until my neighborhood couldn’t stand it anymore…

we needed a place, we ended up in a little bar close to my house, inviting all of our friends, by the time we got to the third party we couldn’t fit in it

than @santeriatoscana31 gave us a new home, we threw countless parties since than, hosting many amazing artists. the circle got bigger, but every time the feeling of meeting up again some old friends stayed the same and we just kept doing what we always did: having fun!

last year has been amazing, we started touring bringing our vision all over europe, we got the chance to meet a lot of incredible humans, and I know its not always easy to stay true to yourself, but we are doing a decent job if u ask me..

saturday party just felt unreal, i’m grateful to each person who showed up, blessed to have all my friends with me and kinda shocked to see how far we got

but in the end i feel like we just got from 0 to 1, lets see what happens in the way to 100, see u at the next party :)

what should i use it for? :)

just a quick overview about this crazy piece of retro tech that i have sitting around for a while now, it’s just super fun to use and im looking for a way to use it in some kind of analog video chain, in the meanwhile im just exploring all the functions

shoutout to @davemasciandaro for enlightening me about the existence of this thing
