Rebranding was personal for me. 3.5 years into servicing our clients, I still felt this lack of true connection & authentic representation of who we are. What we stand for & why we show up. How we show up. When Cerebro presented me with the name 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮, it made me think of a speakeasy or an executive lounge. Honestly, I love that — because the name carries that same sense of exclusivity, intimacy, & depth. Not everyone walks through the door. But those who do, leave different. For me, it’s personal too: My story includes the loud rooms, unhealthy relationships, false professional promises, gender inequality, feeling stuck in life…but always desiring and searching for more. That’s where God found me. Now, He’s redeemed it. What once was escape has become excellence. The Ledger Room isn’t a bar or a club — it’s a place of clarity, a place of truth. “Ledger” represents precision & clarity. “Room” represents space, perspective, & a refined experience. Together, they form a place where truth is made visible, where what feels overwhelming can finally make sense. Yes, we’re an accounting & advisory firm. We provide structure, strategy, & financial confidence. We love black-and-white numbers because they don’t lie. But here’s the truth: what we do is deeper than spreadsheets & statements. The Ledger Room represents authenticity. It represents bravery. It represents partnership & trust. We believe business can be done with integrity & excellence — without losing soul. Cities and Communities aren’t built or redeveloped without the majority standing in the same corner, aiming for the same vision. Simply showing up, isn’t enough. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. It takes the A-Team to get this from concept to completion. A-Teams are made up of winners. Winners are looked at sometimes as being cocky or arrogant. Successful people EXPECT to win. And when they win, there’s no hype, because that’s how it was supposed to go. Anything other than that is unacceptable. What appears cocky is the hype game prior to going “into battle” (i.e. the Octagon, game 7 of the finals, Tyson vs. Holyfield). The way you think, needs to be dialed into a winner’s mindset. You have to be an animal. If you haven’t been there, you wouldn’t understand. Successful people know their purpose and show up to execute against their purpose. Every. Single. Day. The bigger your hype game, the more savage your playlist, the louder your music volume… I don’t know about you, but I want to continue to stand in the corner of people rollin’ up their sleeves, rocking in place, looking out, and knowing when they step in that ring or on that court, they’re coming home with the belt. 𝔽ℝ𝔼𝔸𝕂 • 𝔽ℝ𝔼𝔸𝕂 • 𝔽ℝ𝔼𝔸𝕂 Ever wonder if other people think you’re good at what you feel like you’re good at?! Maybe it’s just me… Currently, I’m talking about bein’ A Freak in the Sheets. Mmmmhmmm. Sure did. You read that right. I don’t know where your head’s at but I’m talking about spreadsheets. You stay there, I’ll continue. My end user wants information efficiently, accurately, clean, simple but detailed and easy to decipher. Me, the freak…wants ALL the detail, time to dissect and analyze, easily accessible, organized and of course accurate. I mean, I could go on and on about the beauty of a set of chart of accounts with parent accounts and sub accounts, numbering systems that tell you what kind of account it is with the first digit, and financials that report on multiple business units at the click of a button. Okay…okay, my mind went straight to the gutter. Back on track. So, the point is: Are we really good at what we do? ••• I have a client that needed to restructure their reporting for a few reasons. HAPPY NEW BEGINNINGS - to me! Shipped off (I just hit send 😉), first review of the restructure this past Saturday at 5pm. This morning (Monday) at exactly 9:33am, my client’s internal CFO response, “This kicks major ass!” Working side by side with their team (aka work family), listening…listening some more and then putting our heads and my experience together to execute brought home a W for the team! Tell me without telling me, I hit a triple with bases loaded there. Every single seat on that team has a butt in it that’s qualified and key for success. A three-bagger is fun, but a base-clearing triple and shared success will always be why I play the game. I’m a CPA with two full sleeves. I’m a 𝔽ℝ𝔼𝔸𝕂. EST 1.16.2022 I don’t know about you, but when I hear the word 𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙡𝙚, my lips go in line, my finger pistols go up and the beat in my head is bumpin’. Now that you’re envisioning a scene straight from American Gangster; cast Napoleon Dynamite as the main character and we’re rollin’ here. If you look up the actual definition of hustle, it’s really…not great. • force (someone) to move in a specific direction • obtain forceful action or persuasion • busy movement and activity • a fraud or swindle Like, none of the above feels hype to me. So let me give you my version of ＨＵＳＴＬＥ. To hustle, is to lock arms with someone who fuels your vibe and vise versa. To hustle, is to work toward a shared vision. To hustle, is to know your dream, see theirs and believe in both simultaneously. To hustle, is to level up, believe in yourself, have faith in others – and walk straight into the unknown. To hustle, is to know it’s going to take everything you’ve got, plus some, and commit to showing up. There’s a reason I stand on Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” My hustle game is strong. It’s not for money, or status, or even the “freedom” they say that comes along with entrepreneurship. Let’s be honest, I LIVE behind my computer. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. Selfishly, my hustle proves to me that I can be successful at something I apply my whole self to. My hustle provides validation to my efforts. My hustle gives back to me something I cannot give to myself. My hustle is for them, my children, my clients, my people.  Cause life isn’t about me, it’s about what I have to give and how I show up for you.
