So honored to have a visit from the icon Jenny Nguyen who created @thesportsbrapdx —- the Nation’s First Women’s Sports Bar!!! where all of the screens play live women’s sports events and celebrate the amazing professional athletes playing the game. I first saw Jenny when she was a keynote speaker at @cherrybombe’s annual Jubilee conference in NYC and was in awe, so I was more than elated to see her in line at the shop this week! (Thank you @kerrybombe for connecting us!)

Jenny is a change maker —-truly changing the game for absolutely everyone and creating an incredible space and community that hasn’t before existed formally. She’s an inspiration to me and I look forward to a trip to Portland very soon.

🌸 LE DIX-SEPT | POTRERO HILL
Back to Le Dix-Sept Botanical Pastry & Confections in Potrero Hill! We stumbled upon this little gem on a walk through the neighborhood and couldn’t wait to go back.

Owner Michelle Hernandez creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind botanical pastries inspired by her passion for art, design, and the healing powers of flowers and plants. 🌿🌸 She also creates the most stunning custom cakes!
This visit, we tried:
🥭 Almond Passionfruit Tart
🥐 Buckwheat Croissant and Nectarine Cheesecake Danish — no photo evidence because we ate them before we remembered to take one. 😂
I already loved their Iced Matcha Latte, so I tried the Iced Strawberry Matcha made with ceremonial-grade matcha, real strawberries and cane sugar. SO good. 🍓🍵

We also found the cutest Jenny Lemons hair claw clips and picked up the Confetti Cake 🎂 and Olive 🫒 clips. We loved them so much, we literally went home, jumped on the Jenny Lemons website and ordered more!

This is exactly why I love exploring Potrero Hill. You head out for a walk and end up discovering a creative local business you can’t wait to visit again.

You may have noticed our gorgeous new window art and colorful food illustrations as you walk into the bakery— all done by Brooklyn-based illustrator and designer Nancy Pappas (@nkpcreate)!

Nancy’s in town from NYC and will be visiting the bakery (455 Carolina St., Potrero Hill) on Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30p - 3p. Swing by for a pastry and a coffee and hang out with her while she draws and works. We have her new prints and cards now stocked in the shop. She will sign any previously purchased prints as well so bring them in. Come say hi!
