And as the bar was getting ready to close, we ordered coffee.

We drank it slowly. Down to the last dark sip, until only the grounds remained.

The cup turned upside down. Always towards us. A ring resting on top. Or a hair clip. Whatever happened to be in our pocket. Or on our body.

We waited. And waited.

In the meantime, another glass of tea. With sugar. Or without. Personal preference, no rule.

We checked the surface with the tip of a finger. No patience. Wondering if it had cooled enough.

Then we handed it over. To the wise teyze. Or to Ilhan ağabey. 2 let them look. 2 let them read.
