Friday night music. A pick up from last week after a quick trip over to Wales. The chap in the shop where it was from had played it to me last time I was there but I didn't like the version he liked. I had subsequently listened to the Tribal Bible mix and was slightly miffed I hadn't bought it. The record gods were being kind and as you probably worked out it was still there. As a side note one of the other mixes was included on the first Sasha & Digweed Renaissance mix. by @leebradlee

Friday night music. This was from a couple of weeks back and I hadn't realised big son had recorded it until he told me last night. It starts off with the amusingly titled Jack Me Off from the recent Night Tracks ep by Mark Grusane and then into a boot of Luther (it's by Aston Martinez apparently).

Friday night music. Pretty sure I will have bought this when it was released as I did with most Tribal 12s at that time but I don't think it was for the track Hana. I suppose it's better late than never to the party. It reminds me a little of E2-E4 or Sueno Latino which is no bad thing. Just noticed it had actually come out the year previously and a comment on the Discogs page describes it much better than I could as a "saucer eyed slice of motor city madness".

Friday night music. Picked this seven at some point in the last few months but can't remember where from but it will have been a quid at most as I am a cheapskate. No links on Discogs to anything else by the group or label so it seems one release and they were gone. It is a bit cheesy but I am a sucker for this kind of stuff that was most likely dismissed at the time but is actually quite interesting. by @leebradlee

Friday night music. This is not actually from this week but I did coincidentally play both records again (the video was recorded by the boss and I hadn't got around to getting it from her phone). The Millie Jackson has become a firm favourite around these parts and quite often leads to us both busting some moves and then needing to find the Voltarol. I also hadn't realised at the time that it was Jackson in to Jackson.

Friday night music. Unless I am mistaken I read about this track on the DJ History forum which used to be my go to place to read about records rather than working. IIRC it turned up relatively soon afterwards in the goldmine that was the Vinyl Tap basement. At the time I didn't really like this track and much preferred Slow Beat which is on the b side. I had been flicking through the racks recently and gave Save Our Love a spin and realised that I had been wrong and it was a pretty good track. They released another twelve as Escape From New York which is a bugger to find and also there's a nice wrongspeeder on the b side of one of the tracks they released as Airstrip-One. by @leebradlee

Diana, Nickolas, Valerie and Jimmy with a certified disco classic for a Friday night. I hadn't realised that my other half had recorded this at the time. Not sure why she stopped recording soon after Melissa joined the party. But then who am I to question THE BOSS. by @leebradlee

Seems to be one release and then gone for Sweet Daddy Ceville on MF Records out of New York. There are a couple of other releases on this Jump Street sub label and the other hip hop one is also worth searching out. I don't think I have posted very much hip hop but I do like the stuff from around this time but eventually I got distracted by house etc. Love the haunting flute type noise in this. What could well be my favourite flavour of jam but for the the pesky little seeds in raspberry and the fact that marmalade isn't (I had to check as wasn't sure). Have had the LP for a while but not the 12 so picked this up and a few others from @sk1records during the week.
