Venice surprised me. Everyone told me I’d either love it or hate it. And you can officially put me in the “love” category. 🥰 This 2-night stop was the start of a very active 2-week trip, so I made absolutely no plans before arriving (other than our hotel). And that proved to be the best decision, leaving us open to discovering the hidden corners of Venice. Here are some favorite memories:

🌅 Seeing the sunrise and wandering sleepy streets where the only pedestrians were pigeons.
🚪Noticing the creative door knobs and searching for them everywhere we went.
🍝 Ducking into a family-run café for late-morning plates of pasta during an unexpected rain shower.
🛶 Watching boats glide by and listening to cathedral bells while sipping canal-side cocktails (negronis and spritzes, of course).

✨Maybe it was because we avoided the ever-crowded Piazza San Marco, or maybe because our time was unscripted, but either way, Venice was magical.✨

🏡 Goodbyes are hard. And saying farewell to a home is no different. Last weekend we cleaned out our sold home in Boca Grande, closing a cherished chapter - one filled with sunscreen-lathered toddlers, inflated water wings and hectic golf cart rides to the beach. 🏖️ And while we won’t walk those halls again, we will keep the memories they echoed so clearly. 🥰

🍽️ For our last hurrah, we dined @gasparillainn the grand dame of Boca. 🍹We sipped cocktails in BZ’s, savored an elegant meal in the glamorous dining room and even saw an armadillo out the window (a first!). We reminisced about dinners past, grateful for this place that had been so gracious to us for the past 26 years.

And even though this visit was bittersweet, saying goodbye to the familiar leaves room for new adventures. So off we go! ✈️

🪷In addition to an abundance of shopping, a gorgeous coastline and an upscale vibe, Naples is home to a hidden gem: @naplesbotanical . And amidst meals out, sunrise walks and family time last weekend, we squeezed in a visit an hour before closing. From the musical swings and whimsical sculptures to the spectacular water features and fascinating orchids, this vibrant oasis was good for the soul, and I can’t wait to return.🌺

Less than 2 years ago, we splurged on our dream safari trip. Our home base when visiting Victoria Falls was @victoriafallsriverlodge - a gorgeous riverfront getaway. 🏝️ We opted for the island bungalows, each boasting a river view and an outdoor plunge pool.
