Rest in heavenly peace to the man who created icons, designed magic and breathed confidence into the diva in all of us.

His devotion to details of individuality is what made every design uniquely custom to the performer. Not an act of fashion but a timeless masterpiece . A showcase of moments that can never be replicated.

I hope the industry preserves his work and honors his legacy in this new era of design. Saying bye to Bob Mackie is also saying bye to my teenage dream of meeting him one day. We let go of a lot through the years but we don’t always realize it has already shaped us in some way.
His legacy is greater than costume design. It’s imagination in all its extravagance, and the fearless influence of what it means to be different. To be bold in who you desire to be. With his designs he immortalized moments we now associate with the celebrity of it. But for those who get it, it was always he that helped them embody it. Without Bob Mackie the industry will suffer . At least for me anyway. I love you Bob, you’re the real immortal Barbie that provokes originality one daring imagination to a moment in time. by @leena.lecage
