We’ve now completed our second presentation on Addison’s Disease. This time at the wonderful Carlisle Women’s Institute 💜

We hope that through our love for Lee and by sharing his story, we can shine a light on this disease, and help people. Hopefully we can reach beyond our circle and make a real difference to national and global awareness of Addison’s Disease.

🚨 People with adrenal insufficiency deserve safer adrenal crisis care.

An adrenal crisis is a life-threatening emergency that needs a time-critical injection of hydrocortisone. Other life-threatening conditions have auto-injectors or pre-filled syringes. Adrenal crisis doesn’t.

💉 Instead people face a complex process of 12+ steps to prepare an injection, often while in pain, vomiting and struggling with brain fog.

Tragically, 1 in 200 adrenal crises are fatal. Patients' lives are at risk, and hospital admissions are increased because of delayed treatment.

🏛️ We’re campaigning for Safer Adrenal Crisis Care and calling on governments across the UK to act. Join us by writing to your MP and asking them to attend our Parliamentary drop-in on 25 November. Use our letter templates on our website - we need you to let them know why this matters.

Bit of a late post but we want to say a huge thank you to Josh Flynn for completing the Manchester Marathon 2026 in memory of Lee Armstrong

Josh never met Lee but he he's heard all about him from Lee's older brother Chris Armstrong.

Unfortunately, Josh picked up a knee injury in his training and despite a knee brace the injury flared up only 4km into the 42km event which obviously gave him a lot of discomfort and pain but he persevered and completed the distance in a very respectable 4 hours 11 minutes.

Amazingly, he has raised a humongous £919.00 for our dedicated charity Addison's Disease Self-Help Group by @lees_light

In the last few years of his life, Lee worked as a Support Assistant looking after adults with Autism, Downs Syndrome, and 1 lovely man he was very close to, who had an acquired brain injury. Unfortunately, J couldn't verbalise very well and therefore called Lee, Bee.

So, it felt very apt today to receive this lovely card in the post from Deana Kenward MBE, Founder and Patron of Addison's Disease Self-Help Group to say thank you for the work we have done and will continue to do for the charity in memory of Lee 💔💙 by @lees_light

I won the lottery when I got to be your son. I’ll never stop saying that.

It’s so easy to forget how good we have it, or take people for granted who’ve always been there. That’s why gratefulness is a way of life. I hope I never lose my way.

Happy international women’s day to all the legendary women in my life. You are loved and appreciated 🫶 especially you mum.

This weekend mum and I are travelling to London to tell the @lees_light story on the onevybe podcast with @s.u.n.n.y.d.e.o - we want everyone who will listen, to know about Addison’s disease.

Mum has been telling Lee’s story to stop others from meeting the same fate as our son/brother Lee. I couldn’t be more proud of her.

Tried my best to articulate what I’m trying to say to myself in this one, but I don’t think there’s a singular message. It’s more of a stream of consciousness. And that’s ok.

At the moment I’m posting a lot about Lee, February is the month that he was born and the month that we lost him. Everything else feels a lot less important right now.

Thanks so much for all the support, particularly for mum.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.

This is the story of how I ended up behind the camera, starting my own creative enterprise after a decade long career in IT.

I fell in love with visual storytelling, by telling my brothers story.

Out of the heartbreak of losing him, and horrified by the idea that he would be forgotten, I had an vision of someone flying a flag with a picture of my brother on it, on top of the world. So I set my sights on Mount Kilimanjaro and booked the expedition.

I bought my first mirrorless camera to document the ascent, and a year later, I’m using that same camera to DOP my own short films.

My personal reasons for starting filmmaking drive me every day to find new emotive stories to tell and learn new ways to tell them.

This does however mean that my new favourite pastime constantly reminds me of what we’ve lost as a family.

But you can only lose what you were fortunate enough to have had, and how lucky are we to have had something so wonderful, that makes saying goodbye so hard. by @lees_light

12 months ago I bought my first video camera, to record my summit of Kilimanjaro. I’ve always been creative, but I didn’t anticipate how much I would fall in love with the process of creating images that tell stories.

Cheers to all the new friends I’ve made this year and thank you for trusting me with your projects 🫶.
