FIGHTCAMP RECAP ⚡️

I can’t fully describe how special this past month+ has been. Relentless training, learning new skills, refining the old ones, building a strategy that truly fits me— repeating it over and over. Sparring. Hard sparring. Shark tank. I expected the physical challenge, but the mental aspect has been a beast on its own.

This camp pushed me to meet myself on a deeper level. I’ve found parts of me and patterns through my fighting that have challenged me throughout my life, now brought to light again through a new experience. I’m fascinated and so proud of myself for seeing it all the way through to the end. Broken, vulnerable, depleted—yet now I stand stronger, with new knowledge and clarity. The demons have been exposed, the self-doubt brought to light, and now I face them with new tools and proof that I am so much more than that.

I’m forever grateful for @parastoobadie and @quilombommafitness for their unwavering commitment and confidence in me. The timing, the alignment, the work we put in—it all led to this. Thank you for your guidance, your patience, your knowledge, and for pushing me while also knowing exactly what I needed. From the technical growth to making weight without stress, I’ve learned more than I can put into words. I’m grateful to have you in my corner and to call you coaches.

And I can’t not mention @ettakigym —where it all really started for me. The foundation, the countless rounds, the people who helped spark this dream. Hassan, Oussama, and all my sparring partners—you played a huge part in this journey. Shokran ❤️ I miss you guys.

Now, this intense and beautiful chapter comes to a close, and we step into the main event. Fight night is tonight—and I’m ready. I’m curious to meet the version of myself that shows up in that ring. Taking every lesson with me, proud of myself for stepping in. No matter what happens, I’ve already won. Osu.

Thank you to everyone for the words of encouragement and support—it means the world.
And to mi hermana, muchissimas gracias for capturing part of this rollercoaster so beautifully and honestly… te quiero un chingo ❤️

Part II - Exhaustion of beauty

Shortly after, he too left the water and climbed to the top of the cliff.

He looked down at the waves and said to me,
“I wish I could keep surfing — they’re just so beautiful —but I don’t have any strength left.”
Then he crouched down and rested his head on his board.

An exhaustion of beauty had taken him. taken in Punta De Mita, Nayarit, Mexico by @leesa.fleming

Part I - I Swam Out to Dream Again

It started with the urge to swim in bigger waves again -
to shoot not for anyone else, but for myself, for the dream I always chase in my pictures.

To shoot with the only intention of feeling the rush of diving under powerful waves,
to feel the strength of the ocean when the current drags me somewhere I didn’t choose,
to feel alive.

To stop looking for meaning in what I shoot but to simply let it be,
to laugh out of the pure joy of being there,
to find those incredible moments — the ones that later make me cry in front of my laptop when I’m editing,
to feel the fire that made me start shooting in the ocean in the first place,
to reconnect with the origin of my relationship to the ocean — not through surf, but through my camera.

All of it was achieved.

I swam back to the beach, climbed to the top of the cliff, and watched him surf from above.

@gordosurf came back just in time from the Philippines to catch the end of our little burst of a fun winter swell.

I got aaall the feels for this turn, watched it no less than 200 times. Ridiculously mesmerizing

Working on a bigger edit of that weekend at the moment … 🔥 taken in Punta De Mita, Nayarit, Mexico by @leesa.fleming

Pas seulement pour le surf - mais pour tout ce vers quoi l’eau vous appelle.

Not just for surfing - but for everything the water calls you to.

I’m sitting here in tears as I put these pictures together.
The 2025 Recap.

I have become someone who takes the end of a year and start of a new one quite seriously. I believe we can make change and reflect any day of the year but there’s something about doing it very consciously once a year that I love.

So as I have been going through the archive of this year I find myself moving through all the emotions of every moment in which each picture was taken. I feel beyond grateful for all the experiences, difficult as well as beautiful. They’ve shaped me to be who I am today, on one of the last days of this year.

2025, you have been nothing short of surprising, challenging, extremely beautiful, rare and wild.

To name just a few things that happened this year:
• I organised my first exhibition with other artists.
• I managed the photography team and social media at Mexilog.
• I shot several surf competitions and festivals in Mexico and Europe.
• I decided to leave my life behind in Portugal and move to México.

And the BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT for me this year was the fact that I made my first short film. I’m so proud of it and can’t put into words how incredible the whole experience was. This film and that time will now be with me forever and I love that so much.

I started the year in Mexico and I’m finishing it here. Life is a wild ride and I’m here for it.

——— LOVE TO YOU ALL.
I really mean it when I say how grateful I am to every person that has supported me and my soul’s work this year. Thank you so much. by @leesa.fleming

This morning was otherworldly.

And yes, most important of all, I put the camera and phone down a big portion of the time to actually be there. Because in this obsessively over-consumptive world we live in we need to put the damn phone and camera down sometimes and actually live the moment through our own eyes so we can fully feel what’s happening in front of them.

One day I want to swim with these beautiful creatures. Now that, will feel otherworldly. taken in Punta De Mita, Nayarit, Mexico by @leesa.fleming

Can’t tell you how beautiful and at the same time scary this new chapter is. It’s not my first rodeo with these big new chapters so it’s not scary in the sense of feeling it the first time but that feeling is just still there.

Uncertainty.
Trust.
Unknown.
Trusting in the unknown.
Trusting in myself.

Those are my big words at the moment.

I trust that I will create new, incredible adventures here but fuck, some days it’s just a littler tougher to trust.

Then I see the people I’m surrounded by, find myself in the ocean and I’m reminded that somehow all will be ok.

I don’t know it yet but I do, you know? taken in Punta De Mita, Nayarit, Mexico by @leesa.fleming

One half of Pulso 52, Leesa our Pro Media shooter, goes deeper than documenting your surf — she captures the feeling that keeps you returning to the lineup.
Beyond the rush, there’s the headspace surfing gives you, the breath you didn’t know you were holding, the way the ocean makes everything make sense for a minute.

Pulso 52 wouldn’t be anything without our other half, our incredibly passionate surf instructor - we’ll be presenting her this Saturday!

KEEP A LOOK OUT 👀🔥
