Hmm… lately, I’ve been really deep in thought.

All I can say is: appearances can be deceiving, and in this case, the appearance is far from positive.

Why do people try to put the blame or the bad image onto others just to make themselves look better?

Life is too short to create a false image, to judge others, or to hide behind appearances.

Vor einigen Monaten hat SRF Reporter unsere Geschichte erzählt. Heute folgt mit dem Bericht in der Glattaler Zeitung eine weitere Ergänzung zu unserer Reise nach Ghana und zu unserer Suche nach unseren Wurzeln.

Wir wissen, dass noch viele Fragen offen sind. Auch bei uns. Aber wir kommen Schritt für Schritt weiter. Jede Begegnung, jede Erinnerung und jede neue Spur bringt uns ein kleines Stück näher zu unserer Familiengeschichte.

Wir wissen noch nicht, wohin uns dieser Weg führen wird. Aber wir gehen ihn weiter – gemeinsam. ❤️

Sometimes, life reminds us just how precious time really is. We spend so much of it holding on to what hurt us, what went wrong, what we wish had been different. After spending time with my mom, I was reminded once again of how precious and short our time in this life truly is. It made me realize even more that I don’t want to waste my time and energy on negativity, unnecessary drama, or people who don’t bring peace into my life.

Life is too precious to hold on to things that steal our happiness. I want to spend my time loving, appreciating, laughing, and creating beautiful memories with the people who truly matter.

Tonight is my last night in Brixton, and tomorrow I’ll be flying home with a heart full of mixed emotions.

Leaving Mami here is not easy. My heart is filled with love, worry, and gratitude.

I’m so grateful for the time I was able to spend with her, and deeply thankful for my aunt, who gives so much of herself for her sister and is always there for Mami with so much love and dedication.

I’m also incredibly grateful for the wonderful carers who look after Mami with patience and kindness. Knowing that she is cared for and surrounded by people who truly care about her makes leaving a little easier.

There are so many emotions that are difficult to put into words. But above all, I’m leaving with a grateful heart, grateful for Mum, for my aunt, for her carers, and for all the love that surrounds her.
