✨The Trades Takeover Part 2 at Wagner Middle School was a HUGE success! ✨

So many young people came out, participated, and got hands-on exposure to the trades. They learned, explored, and proved why the future of skilled labor is BRIGHT.

But the biggest highlight for me? Watching Silver confidently teach her peers how to safely use basic hand tools and break down the difference between a general contractor and an individual tradesperson. She answered tons of questions and gave several demonstrations with ease, showing just how much she’s absorbed by being by my side on sites, in meetings, & while facilitating.

Her confidence and leadership in that moment reinforced something for me—this is what happens when we consistently pour into our children. Even when we think they’re glued to a screen and not paying attention, they’re listening. They’re learning. They’re watching. And when the time comes, they’ll step up, share that knowledge, and lead.

🔥 Major shoutout to @mrjarrett_constructiontech , The Dope Teacher at Mayfair Middle School, for organizing such an incredible event and bringing the trades directly to the youth. And much love to all the tradespeople and Unions who showed up and showed out—you all made a real impact!

I’m just a lil brown girl from Norf!!

I remember sitting on the porch planning my future, and closing on an investment property felt like a far-fetched dream.
