Hailing from the Dominican Republic and now based in Charlotte, Legally Sandy (@legally.sandy)channels years of deep involvement in the underground scene into a refined and distinct sound. Long before stepping behind the decks, he was a dedicated listener and crate digger, shaped by late nights, dancefloors, and a love for stripped-back rhythm.
Catch him tonight at @tv_lounge for ABAP!

After two unforgettable years, we’re officially closing the doors of the bodega.

This space gave us memories we’ll carry forever. The music, the energy, the community that showed up and made it all real. But this isn’t the end. It’s a reset.

We’ve found a new home and we’re currently deep in renovations to build something even better for you. While we get everything ready and take the time to build this exactly how we envision it, not rushing the process, the bodega will be closed until further notice.

In the meantime, we’ve been sitting on a vault of recorded sets and we’re about to start rolling those out in the near future, reliving the moments that made this what it is.

We’ll also keep dropping new merch so you can continue to represent Bodega Nights and everything we’ve built together.

To everyone who pulled up, supported, danced, worked, and believed in us over the last two years, thank you. Truly.

Stay tuned in. The rest is still unwritten. 🐈 by @legally.sandy

We’re excited to share the full recording from TWIN FREAKS, a birthday celebration for @hypemelo.wav and @sphinx___909 that opened a portal at @northernlightsdetroit to a place both familiar and bizarre 🪩

Curated by DJ Sphinx and Hypemelo, the night featured deep, hypnotic DJ sets from DJ Sphinx, Hypemelo, @legally.sandy , and @cgonz313 , blurring the lines between Latin-influenced rhythms, club grooves, and richly layered dance music. Time moved strangely, the bass felt heavier, and the dancefloor took on a life of its own 🔥

Beyond the music, the night was a full sensory experience — Dominican food provided by @rincontropicaldetroit and birthday cake fueled the crowd 😋

Go-go dancers @worst.lady @sixsexseis @_pineappleny & @rottingkisses got the party started, creating an energy that felt equal parts celebration and ritual 😈

Shot by @dj_herboyfriend & @steph__who , this video captures the sound, movement, and atmosphere that made TWIN FREAKS a night to remember.

Happy birthday to the freaks — and thank you to everyone who stepped through the portal with us! 🥳

Check out the full set recordings on our YouTube page now!
