None of this year’s tournament would be possible without the incredible support of our sponsors. Your generosity and belief in what we’re building means more than you know. At the heart of Legends of the Fly, our mission is simple: get more veterans out on the water, put more people on boats, and continue growing a local fly fishing community built on friendship, camaraderie, and a shared love for the water. This tournament is about so much more than catching fish. It’s about bringing people together, giving back, and making a difference. To every sponsor who helped make this possible, thank you for being part of something bigger than fishing. taken in Virginia Beach, Virginia by @legendsofthefly

Registration reminder for the Legends of the Fly 10th Anniversary Tournament.

I know how it goes these days… everybody waits until the last minute to sign up. But here’s a pretty good reason not to.

Registration is $100 right now. On October 1st, it goes up to $150.

Sign up today and save yourself $50. That’s gas in the boat.

And we’ve made things a little more interesting this year…

We’ve officially added STRIPED BASS to the list of eligible tournament fish.

So this year you can chase Redfish, Speckled Trout, or Striped Bass on the fly.

Three species. More water. More ways to get on the board.

We’re celebrating 10 years of Legends of the Fly on October 24th, 2026. Don’t wait until the last minute and pay an extra fifty bucks for the privilege.

Get registered. Put that $50 in the gas tank. Then come fish with us.

Ten years. What started in 2016 as a handful of boats and a good idea is now the heart of our season - and on October 24, 2026 we fish the tenth one.

This isn’t just another tournament. You’re helping to support @phwff @children_of_valor and @vb.esp

We ask that you SHARE this and tag a few fishy friends in or around the 757 Tidewater region! Even if you don’t want to fish, the after party is a blast! FULL DETAILS at the link in our bio or by going to www.legendsofthefly.com 👈

The Tournament is saltwater fly fishing, catch-photo-release, all day, on Virginia public-access waters. There are divisions for the biggest Red Drum, the biggest Speckled Trout, and the biggest Striped Bass… and the main event, the Slam, for the biggest of all three combined, with bluefish as the wild card. Photograph your fish, release it, submit your card. The longest fish takes it.

It opens the night before with a captain’s meeting at the Brock Environmental Center, where you’ll get the rules, the boundaries, and a look at who you’re up against. When lines come out at four, everyone heads to Ballyhoos on Lynnhaven Drive for dinner, drinks, the raffle, the silent auction, and awards.

All the info on registration, etc in our bio link or Legendsofthefly.com

MORE THAN JUST A FISHING TOURNAMENT

Legends of the Fly events are about more than catching fish… they are about serving those who served us. Every tournament, trip, and donation helps get veterans on the water, connected with fellow veterans, volunteer captains, and a supportive community.
Funds help remove barriers by covering essentials such as travel, lodging, meals, fishing access, tackle, and flies. More importantly, they create opportunities for veterans to relax, reconnect, build friendships, and continue their healing journey.

SAVE THE DATE!!! Like RIGHT NOW.

Clear your calendars for October 24th!
The Legends of the Fly tournament is an opportunity to come together, enjoy a great day on the water, support our veteran community, and help make future veteran fishing experiences possible.
Sign up for the tournament, invite your friends, and help us make this our strongest turnout yet. Every registration supports the mission: getting veterans on the water and giving back to those who served us.
