Do you have some earthy stone on your exterior or on a fireplace that could use a fresh update without paint? Consider overgrouting! Today I’m sharing the steps and the testing that we did with Greg from @legendstoneworks before we actually had his team come and do the work we are so thrilled with how it turned out.

Contact Greg if you’re in the lower mainland and need a transformation like this 🥰

We also tested a #germanschmear in case your stone would look best basically covered in mortar rather than just #overgroutedstone

✨Fireplace Reveal✨They brought my vision to life and nailed it in just a week 👌 @legendstoneworks

With the grandeur of the floor-to-ceiling design, we chose a thicker wood for the mantle—and I think it turned out perfectly!

I can’t wait to show you how we’ve decorated it for Christmas 🥰

A lot of the decisions that make a project successful aren’t usually the obvious ones.

Most people start with the look. Which makes sense. But around a pool, details like drainage, slip resistance, maintenance, and how the space actually gets used matter just as much.

For this project, the tile selection wasn’t only about appearance. We chose a raised system with drainage underneath and a finish that performs better around water.

That’s one of the biggest parts of our job. Not just installing what’s requested, but helping clients think through the things they may not know to ask yet.
