The toyline we all secretly enjoy. Embrace! We only live once. In space preferably

I just love these kind of sceneries with styrofoam added landscapes and photolayers. They made these brochures really come alive and tell stories! Obviously totally not achievable as a kid recreating that (I mean warped roadplates) and always ending up with flat dioramas 🥲 I still like these portrayels more then landscapes completely made of bricks. It draws the attention from the actual sets when all is 'brick' but that's me.

Ok. First test with Lego Bricklink Stud.io 🤓Even bought a new laptop for this. In short, there is a lot to say about this software but it is very enjoyable to work with. It takes some time investment to figure things out but I do believe it is rewarding when you get the hang of it. Many already have made very complex and interesting designs. Anyway, here's my first attempt to get some bricks digitally together in a logical sense.
I have a renovation of our house on schedule for the last months of this year but i'm sure there will be plenty of remaining time coming winter to eventually also fumble around with this free software ☺️ props to the designers, really.

Who else uses this to clean their Lego collection..? It's ideal! Though i do recommend taking the material outside otherwise dust settles just as quickly again. But with some collections that's not doable. That's why it keep the collection minimal! 😀 For the shelves themselves i just use a small battery vaccuumcleaner.

What can be said that isn’t already done, I think the Galaxy Explorer 10497 is an interesting set which perfectly honors the era of Classic Space. When sets where original and rich in phantasy.
As an older guy many bricks and techniques were new to me and building this was a very nice experience. A great set, pricewise too when compared to other sets this size.

I haven’t posted in a while, so here goes. Set 6925, the Interplanetary rover with 2 astronauts and two droidz from 1988. This wasn’t a very prominent set back in the day - for me - but it has an appealing look that still fits to this day. Granted, the back of the vehicle looks a bit barren and two ladders on the side or some computerpanels would have been cool and not misplaced, but also from commercial aspect, less is more. The canopy is cool and I like the headlights placement. This was the biggest Futuron vehicle and the wheels used the 6950 mechanics to ride uneven terrain, not caught on photo here.

No matter how nifty ideas one can have on cleaning the number one dust collecting stuff on display, cleaning Lego is something you must not do when feeling agitated or restless. It requires a lot of patience but when done it is rewarding! Not. Lol

Lego 6932 Futuron Stardefender 200.
Sleek designing with modular octagonal pods that look like - enter starwars - Tiefighter midsections. Overal it also looks heavily armed with two blasters at both sides of the big distinctive canopy and in that perspective, looking more menacing then the Spacepolice sets. One thing that’s a bit sparse by design are the controls: almost none. Let’s pretend that those are mostly HUD based 😄 I pictured only one astronaut but there are two coming with this set from 1987.

Lego 6783 the Sonar transmitting cruiser from 1988 with Light & Sound system.
It’s one of my favorites. I altered one part and that is that I replaced the white fencepieces under the jet canopy which looks much better now being closed. The modular sections and the combination you can make with them make this are very playable set and it also look just slick and cool overall. The canopy pieces used as ramp is a very cool idea too.
Maybe more unity would have been cool, like the ramps either being all black or transparant blue but that’s a thing one could change to own taste because Lego!
Funny things is, when i got this set, Orinoco flow from Enya was on the radio a lot (single also aired in 1988) so somehow that song is for me forever tied to this set! Things that make you go hmmm…

Lego 6931, FX Starpatroller from 1985. Really had to post again, been sick, should have lived like an astronaut and not get Covid 😁 Me, my wife and my youngest got it and my oldest one got spared. Youngest didn’t receive her jab yet because of her age but we all came out ok. Oh and argh I now noticed the right arm with dish was displaced but do not be stressed, it now stands corrected again on the shelf 😁
