The Self, Held—Reclaiming the Self 🌿

Sunday 28 June, Amani House, Hout Bay. 9am–5pm.

What the day holds:
Breakfast and a slow arrival. Human Design with Kate. Somatic movement. A session on nature and ancestry, held out in the garden. A plant-based lunch. An afternoon with Jen, working with conditioning and inner child patterns. Free time on the grounds. A closing reflection. Music and movement to end the day.

Included: all sessions, breakfast, lunch, and the full day at Amani House.

Bring: a journal and pen, something belonging to a family member or ancestor, slippers, and warm layers.

TW: body image, disordered eating, diet culture

Did Lean Girl just say the quiet part out loud?

We decide what a person is worth by looking at them. And we are constantly, confidently wrong. I don’t think this is really about her, I think it’s about all of us. We mistake a body for a measure of worth.

I include myself in this, I am certainly not watching from the outside.

NB* exercise makes me feel great, and I feel many mental and physical benefits, that is not what I am referring to here. Exercise is not a monster, it’s how we use it.
