You might hear Mahler’s Adagietto a little differently after this. Maybe you’ll notice the harp more. How it keeps time in this expansive piece. The shimmer it adds. The way it supports and colours everything around it without needing to be the centre of attention. And maybe you’ll notice those voices outside the concert hall, too. The people who listen closely. Who hold things together. Who add something essential without asking for any pomp and circumstance. Lean in to appreciate what they’re contributing. We’re so happy to welcome harpist Antoine Malette-Chénier to SweetWater this year, and to have him add his voice to the festival. by @leharpiste
19th-century Paris erupts over an archaeologist’s discovery—a tomb in Cyprus detailing the life of a 6th-century BCE courtesan. Bilitis’ erotic poems become an instant bestseller. Her words are set to music by countless composers. She is depicted in arthouse film. She’ll even become the namesake of the first lesbian civil rights group. Only thing is… she never existed. Seulement voilà… elle n’a jamais existé. by @leharpiste

Sometimes the quietest whispers make the most powerful statements. Earlier this week, we welcomed the remarkable ensemble Ménestrel for Songs of the Mayflower, a captivating journey through the folk traditions of early Canada and the Maritimes. Their artistry reminded us that music doesn’t need to be loud to leave a lasting impression. It was fascinating to uncover songs preserved through the tireless work of folklorist Helen Creighton, many of which may have been lost forever. Even more remarkable is how fresh, relevant and timeless they still sound today. The evening was further enriched by an extraordinary collection of historical instruments, from Renaissance recorders to the Gaelic harp and lute. Hearing the music of Jacob van Eyck and John Dowland alongside these traditions added another beautiful dimension to the programme. Thank you to Janelle Lucyk, Kerry Bursey, Antoine Malette-Chénier and Caroline Tremblay for taking us on such an unforgettable musical journey. ❤️🎶 #CollingwoodMusicFestival #EarlyMusic #HelenCreighton by @leharpiste
Yes, I have a personal harpist for my naps. But for the days he isn’t available, I created Tika’s Classical Playlist for Dogs in collaboration with @atma_classique. It’s a collection of my favourite calming classical pieces that Second Favourite Dad puts on when I want to relax or when he leaves the house. The link to the playlist is in my bio! The playlist is dog approved, of course. Happy listening! 🎵 by @leharpiste
🪉VOYAGE EN MER🪉 Samedi 8 août à 10 h Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Murailles de Saint-Fabien-sur-Mer POÉTIQUE. RÊVEUR. ROMANTIQUE.
