Our next student athlete summer check in is with rising captain Sarah Lucas ‘28!The majority of my summer I have dedicated to going to EMT school to work towards getting my certification. Along with the course load, I am volunteering with the PWFD to get patient contacts on local ambulance calls in my town 🚑I am also volunteering at Good Samaritan University Hospital to observe Physicians, NPs, and PAs both in hospital and out-patient settings. I’ve been lucky to gain knowledge about the daily responsibilities, and learn more about the experiences in the field! When I have some free time, I’m enjoying what NY has to offer with concerts, marches, and sunsets.I’m looking forward to getting back to campus & my teammates for another amazing year!! 🤎🤍 by @lehighrowing

Our next summer student athlete check in is with Elizabeth Jane’s ‘27So far I have spent most of my summer in Ireland! 🇮🇪For six weeks I studied at the University of Galway, where I took an economics course and completed a consulting practicum with the Galway Ukulele Festival.I also had the chance to travel all around Ireland and see some super cool places. My favorite is definitely the Aran Islands🏖️☀️!I also had the opportunity to be a part of a big group of Lehigh students who ran a half marathon in Dublin on the Fourth of July. It was such a fun experience!Excited to be back at Lehigh, back on the river, and ready for another year. Woohooooo!! Fly Hawks! by @lehighrowing

Our next summer student athlete check in is from Seeley Mazur ‘29I studied abroad for four weeks this summer with a group of other Lehigh students in Granada, Spain, where I took classes in Islamic Architecture and Spanish Culture and Language. I was able to visit many places, such as the Alhambra in Granada, rural places like Ronda and Güéjar Sierra outside of the city, the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, and Tangier, Chefchaouen, Rif, and Tetouan in Morocco. My group also did several activities together, such as a tour of a private art museum in Granada, visiting the beaches outside of the city, and attending a flamenco show together!I’m super excited to get back on campus and on the water with my teammates. A summer update from rising captain Ryann McDonald ‘28This summer, I spent four weeks with Lehigh in Belgium’s four week summer abroad experience. I studied in Leuven, and completed courses in Global Marketing and Special Topics in European Marketing. While away from the boathouse, I was fortunate enough to embrace the opportunity to grow beyond the sport and traveled to Amsterdam, Knokke-Heist, and Ibiza, where I saw Calvin Harris perform with my teammate Victoria Bazarko. I look forward to being back with the team in the Fall🤎🌎 🚣 🇧🇪 by @lehighrowing
