Most AI recruiting tools: upload CVs, get a magic shortlist.I'm building RecruiterEngine the opposite way. It won't rank anyone until you give it the real job brief: what the person must do in six months, what you'd never compromise on, what you'd trade away. Then it ranks against that brief and shows its reasoning so you can overrule it.The cost: it's a harder demo, and it exposes vague briefs. A tool can't fix a brief you never wrote down.Recruiters: would you rather a tool guessed what you want from the CVs, or made you write it down first? When did writing the brief properly last change who you hired?#Recruitment #HiringTech #RecruiterEngine #FutureVector #AIRecruiting by @leifhaarmann

Myth: "Phoning a customer about an overdue invoice is aggressive. Email is the polite option."I think that's backwards. Five reminder emails to someone who isn't reading them isn't polite. It's just quiet.Email can't tell you if the invoice is disputed, stuck with an approver, or sitting behind a gatekeeper. A conversation can. That's why we built George: it phones overdue B2B customers, handles gatekeepers, logs promises-to-pay and stops instantly if the customer disputes. The cost: a call is a bigger ask than an email. If you've run credit control: when did a phone call do more damage to a customer relationship than a pile of ignored emails? Confession: I'm building a sign language app, and I don't think an app can teach you sign language. Not on its own. Sign language lives between people: facial expression, use of space, timing, a Deaf signer correcting you in the moment. A phone can't give you that.So why build Signello? Because most hearing people never start. A few minutes of daily practice is a way across that gap, a better first step, not a replacement for people. It's early-stage and still being built, with no live users yet, so I'd rather be honest about the ceiling now.Deaf signers and sign language teachers: is a daily-practice app a useful first step toward real conversation, or does it quietly teach habits you then have to unlearn?#SignLanguage #EdTech #Signello #LanguageLearning #Accessibility #FutureVector by @leifhaarmann

Most lead generation agencies sell you more leads. I'm doing the opposite. With MarginMultiplier in Chester, I start by finding where a local business loses the enquiries it already gets. I ring the business myself at a few busy times first, then tell the owner what happened to the call. More leads into a leaky bucket is just a more expensive leak. What it costs me: "more leads" is the easier pitch, it's local so it won't scale like a slide-deck agency, and sometimes the honest answer is that you don't need us. If you run a local service business: would you rather someone fixed the enquiries you already miss before bringing you new ones? And what would make you distrust that approach? #LocalBusiness #Chester #LeadGeneration #MissedCalls #SmallBusiness #FutureVector by @leifhaarmann

"How did I do?" shouldn't depend on a friend being polite. Most interview practice is a mate saying "yeah, that was good." That's kindness, not feedback. CareerFast.ai gives you a scored mock interview with STAR coaching on the answers you actually gave, built from your CV and the job description. Where I could be wrong: a score can't replace a mentor who knows your industry. But most people don't have one on call the night before. Hiring managers and coaches: what's the one thing candidates do in interviews that they have no idea they're doing, and could a score ever catch it? #InterviewPrep #CareerAdvice #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #Hiring #FutureVector by @leifhaarmann

Confession: a live sales prompt can make a rep worse.

I build one. ConversationPilot suggests the next question, reframes objections and keeps a live BANT scorecard while the call is still happening.

The part I don't love saying out loud: a rep who reads the prompt word for word sounds like they're reading a prompt. Buyers can hear it.

I still think it's worth it. A reframe at the moment of the objection can still change the call. The same reframe in Friday's debrief can't. But it only works if the rep treats it as a nudge, not a script.

Sales leaders: have you seen live prompts make a rep better or just more robotic? What would a rep need to be doing for you to trust one on a live call?

Myth: "75% of CVs are rejected by the ATS before a human sees them."

I've looked for a primary source for that stat and never found one. As far as I can tell it started as a marketing claim, not a study.

Most applicant tracking systems don't auto-reject anyone by default. The real black box is the recruiter's gut at CV number 140 on a Friday afternoon. Nobody can audit that.

That's why RecruiterEngine.io ranks candidates against the actual job brief and shows its reasoning, so you can overrule it.

I could be wrong. Maybe the gut catches things no brief ever will.

Recruiters: when you pass on a CV in six seconds, could you explain why afterwards? And would you want to have to?

Confession: the best feature in George is the one that makes it worse at collecting money.

George phones your overdue customers. If the customer says "we dispute this invoice", George stops. Instantly. No pressure, no second attempt.

A pushier tool would carry on. I built it to stop anyway, because a real dispute means something is wrong with the invoice, the delivery or the relationship, and pressing on it makes that worse. You get an email summary after every call, so it lands on your desk the same day.

What it costs us: in a demo, a tool that backs off looks weaker than one that fights on.

Credit controllers and finance leads: of the disputes you hear on a chasing call, how many are genuine and how many are a polite way of saying "not yet"? Would you rather a tool stopped every time, or tried to tell the difference?

"Lesson one: the alphabet" shouldn't exist in a beginner's sign language course.

That's my opinion, and I'm open to being told it's wrong. Fingerspelling has its place, but a beginner needs a real sign they can use today, not a chart to memorise before they're allowed to start.

That's the thinking behind Signello, the sign-language learning app I'm building. Short daily practice, Duolingo-style. Early days: still being built, no live users yet.

Deaf educators and sign language tutors: what's the one thing you wish every hearing beginner learned in their first week, and what do you wish they'd never been taught first?

Uncomfortable confession: "speed to lead" is the most overused idea in my industry. And I sell speed.

An instant reply that's generic, pushy or just wrong loses the lead faster than a slow one. The reply isn't the product. The next step is: one sensible qualifying question, a booked callback, and your team alerted with the context. Humans take it from there.

The cost? It's a much worse demo than an AI that talks like your best salesperson. I'd still take the boring version.

If one enquiry is worth real money to your business: would you rather a lead get an instant reply from a bot, or a slower one from a human? And when does the bot start costing you the deal?

Most interview prep tools hand you the same list of 50 questions. So everyone gives the same answers.

We're doing the opposite with CareerFast.ai: you bring your CV and the actual job description, and it predicts questions for that specific role, coaches your answers in STAR format, and scores a mock interview.

What it costs us: a generic question bank is far easier to sell. It needs no input. Ours asks you to bring a CV and a job ad first.

I think that's the right trade, but I could be wrong. If you've hired people: what's the one question where a candidate's tailored answer genuinely changed your mind about them?

Sales coaching that arrives after the call is an autopsy.

By the time you're watching the replay, the prospect has already decided. The objection you fumbled at minute 22 helps the next call, not this one.

ConversationPilot is the opposite bet: coaching while the call is still live. A discreet overlay suggests the next question, surfaces a reframe when an objection lands, and shows a live BANT scorecard. It doesn't record the call.

The cost: mid-call coaching is harder to get right than a recap, and some reps will find any live prompt distracting.

If a rep could only get one thing, a live prompt in the moment or a sharp debrief the next morning, which changes more deals, and why?
