LEIF TRENKLER | COSMIC CHANGE

A world shaped by light, architecture, and memory…

In his dreamlike landscapes inspired by Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Miami, and Saint-Tropez, Leif Trenkler invites viewers on a journey between reality and imagination through pools, modernist houses, star-filled nights, and vibrant fields of color.

In Trenkler’s paintings, light does more than illuminate space; it slows down time, transforms atmosphere, and makes memory visible. What initially appears serene and flawless gradually reveals layered narratives of solitude, transience, and idealized happiness.

Born in Wiesbaden in 1960 and currently living and working in Cologne, Trenkler is regarded as one of the significant figures of contemporary German painting, reinterpreting light, landscape, and architecture through his distinctive visual language.
