As I hang up my uniform for the very last time, it hits me just how much these past five years have meant to me.

I started spinning with RMBCG in 2021 after sending in a virtual audition, not knowing that decision would shape my entire college experience. My first season was spent in masks, learning how to be part of a college marching band without ever seeing a full smile. And the first game I performed without a mask was in Dallas — a moment I’ll never forget.

Since then, I’ve performed at home games, Dallas games, bowl games, and so many places I never imagined I’d get to go because of this program. But the experiences are only half the story. The people have been the real gift.

This program brought me teammates who became family, mentors who believed in me, freshmen I got to watch grow, and best friends I’ll keep long after the uniforms are hung up. I’ve learned how to lead, how to be led, how to adapt, how to show up for others, and how to trust myself. I’ve been pushed, challenged, supported, and celebrated.

I almost walked away after year four, afraid that the joy wouldn’t feel the same anymore. But I was wrong. This last season was different — in the best way. I soaked it all in: the first time freshmen tried on the uniform, their first tunnel, their first home game, their first time stepping onto the field and falling in love with this program just like I did.

How lucky am I to have something that’s going to be so hard to say goodbye to? Five years of memories, friendships, lessons, pictures, bus rides, laughs, tears, rehearsals, wins, and so much pride.

Thank you, RMBCG, for giving me something worth missing. ❤️🐗
